Club Hurling 2014

(Oldest Posts First)

Well folks. Any word on thehurling leagues for this year? Felt last year with the three divisions was good with plenty of games. I hope however they would introduce a division three shield semi final and final, I felt that the final top 4, except for Sallins, were teams who were inter b championship teams, leaving the junior championship teams out in a loop, ska shield for teams 5 to 8 would give the junior championship teams something to keep going during the league. Opinions???

I think the issue with playing any more games in the Div 3 could be affected by the age profiles of some of the teams. College exams and such have an impact on teams ability to field at that time of the season particularly if your are lucky enough to have a younger profile of player on what can be for some clubs their second and in some cases third team. Another issue would be the ever congested fixture calendar. However if possible teams should be getting as many games as possible.

Forgot to say its an April Fools Day start Div 1 starts 01/04. Div 2 03/04 and Div 3 04/04 is what I'm hearing.

There was agrrand number of games in div 3 Browning, problem is that the inter championship teams were taking the semi final spots which were played in June July time, and the junior cship sides were just not up to their level. All I propose is a shield to keep them with something to aim at in the league.
