not having a go just keeping it real but donegals support is way better than donegal. they out numbered you big time in croke park today and they have 3 hours more to drive. hard luck today still contenders for leinster next year.

Oh dont dispute that but they are ulster champions for a second year running and are bound to have huge support and bandwagoners following them.
Kildare support throughout the qualifiers has been magnificant. We drew cork out of the hat and that still didnt deter the support. They really are a credit to county as has been said by the players and kieran mcgeeney.

i don't deny that and the turnout in the qualifiers was better than meath this year but in terms of numbers it goes to donegal.

A lot of Donegal supporters live and work in Dublin so they always have a good turnout. Add in the fact that it was a bank holiday and the numbers were to be expected. There is no doubt that they are very good supporters, why should Kildare be the only county with loyal followers? Meath are not too bad in that area either!

Couldn't believe the amount of supporters Donegal had yesterday, unbelievable! They outnumbered us hugely and I was a bit disappointed about that.

To be fair suncroft donegal had just put back to back ulster titles which would entice donegal fans to travel and fairplay they brought a big crowd.

Murof it was a bank holiday in kildare too you know! and a lot of kildare people would work in dublin more so than donegal!!
and I know we have decent followings but nothing compared to what they've got this year.

suncroft well said. they are putting other counties in leinster to shame. kildare's wasn't bad but the turnout from laois was a joke!

Have to agree the Donegal numbers and the noise they made was impressive, Kildare have between 12 and 15 thousand hard core supporters and they are very loyal. We didn't make that much noise on Sunday but I think we were all deflated as the dream died in front of our eyes. Still life goes on and hope springs eternal, that's the beauty of sport. Have to say thanks to all the crew for the last few years ok we only won a div 2 title but it was a great journey .

Betty I bet it was bank holiday in Meath also! My point which you somehow missed was that not all Donegal fans probably travelled up and down that day. Kildare people are more likely to commute to work than Donegal people wouldn't you agree. Not taking anything away from Donegal they have marvellous supporters and they are fully behind their team and manager. Hard to see the winners of Cork and Donegal failing to win Sam this year.

Fair play to Donegal they had a huge support on Sunday and i have always found them very fair and knowledgeable supporters. I would like to see them go all the way this year as they bring a great atmosphere to every game. Kildare again traveled in large numbers as was to be expected from a football mad county. Laois and Offaly must be the worst supporters in the Country. Laois even when going well have a very poor support and offaly only show any support when they are winning. I remember a few years ago when they were in division 4 a crowd of 110 turned up to o moore park to see them play Waterford.

Yes True Lily,

We're football mad. Just not very good at it though!!

In all fairness though we don't have an excuse not to travel. It's on our doorstep.

well said lads but did laois not have great suport in the mid 00's? i can't really remember but i thought they did. Offaly used to bring pretty big support to both but in fairness they've gone from having a chance of winning all irelands in both codes to having no chance in both.
