Former Kildare goalkeeper Paul Dermody has joined the county’s senior hurling management team for the coming year.

Dermody’s experience will be a massive addition to both the squad and backroom team as he links up with manager David Herity.

Kildare begin their competitive campaign this Saturday when they take on Offaly in the Kehoe Cup at Birr.

This will see two Kilkenny men in rival camps as Michael Fennelly will be in charge of the home side.

The Faithful County will be massive favourites to come through this match, while Down are the third team in the group.
