Stephen Cluxton marked his 100th championship appearance this afternoon with another clean sheet as Dublin cruised into their ninth Leinster SFC final in-a-row with a comfortable victory over Kildare.
However, many Kildare fans in the disappointing attendance of 36,126 weren't happy with the timing of the big screen tribute to the 37-year-old just before throw-in or the fact that it was shown at a supposedly neutral venue.
GAA have no embarrassment gene. Cluxton tribute blaring 4 mins before game! Apart from fact target audience still in the pub.

@CrokePark play a tribute video to Stephen Cluxton before @DubGAAOfficial v @KildareGAA match. Great player but a video like that before a match at a neutral venue. Unfair to kildare (and cluxton).

Part of the three minute tribute to Stephen Cluxton played on the big screens in Croke Park minutes before their Leinster semi-final vs. Kildare, and his 100th SFC appearance.
What a career he’s had - but I’d say he loved that as he was warming up #GAA pic.twitter.com/j0Gt92A0gw
TweetNeutral Leinster semi-final in Dublin's ground begins with a lengthy video tribute to Stephen Cluxton (who has been and still is remarkable, before people go after that). The knees must be nearly worn from the GAA's trousers at this stage.
