Collins keen to move on

Clare manager Colm Collins insists that there is no point dwelling on their win over Cork as they prepare to face Kildare this weekend.

The Banner sit fourth on three points in the NFL 2 table, but they are just one point off the top, with Kildare on the same points, although they have an inferior score difference.

Last time out, Clare had a huge win over the Rebels, but Collins stressed to the Clare Champion that will count for nothing if they can’t follow it up with another victory this weekend.

“The important thing is to keep in mind in that every game is different and it doesn’t necessarily transfer in terms of form, so you have to approach the Kildare game in the same way as any other. You have to make sure your work rate is up to scratch and you are hitting your targets and if you are doing that you give yourself every chance,” said Collins.

“I have said it 1,000 times, we are very lucky with the bunch of players we have. It’s not just their ability, it’s the attitude and the professionalism about how they go about their work.”
