Kildare manager Cian O’Neill looks set to be overseeing the Lilywhites fortunes for the next two years.

O’Neill has completed three years in the role, but speculation is growing that he will be in charge for the next two years at least.

Ironically, following the defeat to Carlow in the Leinster SFC, it looked as if O’Neill would be making an early exit from the position.

However, the side regrouped and a run in the qualifiers which included a brilliant win against Mayo at Newbridge saw them through to the Super 8s.

Even though they lost all three games in the new-look All-Ireland quarter-finals, they put in some excellent performances and restored some pride in the jersey heading into next year.

O’Neill has already been an interested spectator at some of the club football championship matches as he looks to build a squad for 2019.
