Kerry's David Clifford is tackled by Keith Higgins of Mayo

David Clifford registered eight points as East Kerry scraped over the challenge of Kerins O’Rahillys last night at Austin Stack Park to progress to the last eight of the Kerry SFC.

The Kerry ace finished as top scorer in the divisional side’s 0-20 to 3-9 extra-time victory over their Tralee opponents.

The winners clawed their way back from the set-back of conceding three goals in the opening 12 minutes to secure their quarter-final ticket.

St Brendan’s also advanced to the quarter-final stage courtesy of a 4-22 to 1-12 win over Shannon Rangers while West Kerry and Kenmare Shamrocks are due to clash in Killarney this afternoon.

The Kilcummin versus St Kieran’s fixture has been put back to next weekend due to a bereavement.
