The omission of Kerry captain Paul O’Shea is one of the main talking points following the announcement of The Electric Ireland Minor Football Team of the Year earlier today.

The Kilcummin youngster, who lined out at centre-forward, was a vital cog in the Kingdom’s historic five-in-a-row Tom Markham Cup winning achievement

A first cousin of senior star David Clifford, who is his predecessor as Kerry captain, O'Shea was selected as the ‘man-of-the-match’ in their narrow semi-final win over Monaghan and his absence from the team has raised plenty of eyebrows.

Galway half-back Cathal Sweeney can also consider himself unfortunate to have missed out while there is no room either for Kerry’s All-Ireland final ‘man-of-the-match’ Killian Falvey.

The team was selected by a panel that included former Cork All-Star, Daniel Goulding and All-Star winning former Tyrone captain, Sean Cavanagh.
