Senior star Conor Whelan will lead the Galway attack from corner-forward in tomorrow's All-Ireland U21HC semi-final meeting with Limerick at Semple Stadium, Thurles.

The Kinvara clubman has been in outstanding form for Micheal Donoghue's senior side this season, helping them to league success in April and a place in next month's All-Ireland final.

Whelan, whose performances this term have seen him being tipped for the 'Hurler of the Year' accolade, is joined in the Tribesmen U21 selection by fellow senior panellists Jack Grealish, Sean Loftus, who occupy the wing-back positions, and Thomas Monaghan, who starts at number twelve.

Tony Ward's side features six starters from the 2015 All-Ireland minor final triumph including trio Grealish, Loftus and Monaghan while goalkeeper Darragh Gilligan, wing-forward Brian Concannon and corner-forward Jack Coyne are the other three.

Galway (All-Ireland U21HC v Limerick): Darragh Gilligan; Declan Cronin, Conor Cosgrove, Ian Fox; Jack Grealish, Joe Mooney, Sean Loftus; Kevin McHugo, Dan Nevin; Brian Concannon, Sean Linnane, Thomas Monaghan; Conor Whelan, Cian Burke, Jack Coyne.
