Pearse Stadium Pitch Nominated For GAA Award.

(Oldest Posts First)

Hi, there has been a lot of negativity about the Pearse stadium in recent years on this site. But the pitch has been nominated for a "best pitch" award. Previous winners of this accolade include Semple stadium. So well done to the Pearse stadium ground staff. I don't think though they will win it outright.

Great ground, great facilities both within and nearby in Salthill for home and traveling supporters. A central location for the whole county. A well deserved nomination

I take it that you're taking the p**s with your 'central location', never has a stadium been put in a less central location, and is easily one of the most inaccessible stadiums in the country, particularly for a big game. Yes you can't beat Salthill on a fine Summer's day for a big game, but that;s only after you've spent hours trying to get there, not to mention the hours you face just getting out of Galway after a big match!!

Yes Salthill and Pearse Stadium is central situated in the County, I often wonder what map of the county they have in North Galway

Pearse has a fantastic surface and his a players dream pitch.

No, not taking the p**s at all. It's the most central location unless they decide to build a brand new stadium in a location like Oranmore but then we on the west side of the city will have the traffic issue getting there. So for now and for the foreseeable future Pearse Stadium is the home of Galway football and could soon be the award winning home.
