Two wins from three games is a satisfying start to the FL1 campaign for Galway manager Padraig Joyce.

Last weekend’s late win over Donegal see Galway third in the table as we head into a break before returning to action on Sunday week.

Joyce admitted to the Connacht Tribune that he would have taken that position at the start of the league, but added now was the time to push on.

“Yeah, we are very happy with that,” said Joyce. “We sat down at the start of the year and said if we could get four points from the first six, we’d be more than happy.

“The pleasing thing for us is that the players are showing real desire and real want to play for Galway and that’s a huge thing for us. We are just delighted with that.”
