There were incredible scenes at the end of the Connacht SFC final when hundreds of elated Roscommon fans invaded the Pearse Stadium pitch before the final whistle.

With Roscommon leading by three points in the seventh minute of injury-time, Galway half back John Daly drove a goal chance wide with what looked like the last kick of the game. Cue to Rossie pitch invasion, despite referee Barry Cassidy not having blown his final whistle.

The pitch was eventually cleared and when play resumed from Darren O'Malley's kickout, Roscommon worked the ball up the field to win a free which Kerry import Conor Cox converted to make sure of the win and spark a second pitch invasion which this time was the real deal.
