Walsh hits out at 'lazy punditry'

Galway manager Kevin Walsh feels that they are unfairly labelled a very defensive team.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune ahead of their Super 8s clash against Kerry at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon, Walsh stuck up for the system that they are using.

And instead of being defensive, the former All-Ireland winner stated that it was only natural to defend when you lose the ball.

"I think that at times, I would label this 'lazy punditry'. How the game evolves on any given day depends on things like possession turnovers," said Walsh.

"If a team gives away a lot of ball cheaply, it will inevitably follow that they will have to do a lot of defending. Against Roscommon in the first half of the Connacht final, we just gave away the ball too often; we had no choice then to defend."
