Top 6 forwards.

Continually see on HS quotes like "none of their forwards would make the Kerry team"
Wondering if we view forwards compared to others in their position or in their ability to adapt to different systems?
As far as numbers 10-15 go, here's mine.
10 Ryan Mc Hugh
11 Shane Walshe
12 Con O Callaghan
13 Paul Geaney
14 Cilian O'Connor
15 James O'Donoghue.
Chopped and changed time after time and feel there should be at least 1or2 more Dubs in the six but everyone has their own favourites.
Without being colour/county blind how do ye all see the top 6?

Cant be having Mayo's COC , good player but not great from general play , not got that extra spark
Bet Mayo wish they had another Ciaran Mc Donald he was unreal

Forwards win ALL Irelands

Mickey Linden and the famous forwards Down had

Pauric Joyce, Peter Canavan , Colm mc Fadden [never got the credit he deserved]

Anyone could pick 6 forwards but you need balance in a team , ball winners , playmakers etc

Mc Manus Monaghan has got to be included as he has carried Monaghan for years and always produces

Seems mad leaving out McManus but I think individually Geaney and JOD have a very marginal edge at the minute. Kerry bias maybe. You could slot him in at 14, as Murphy plays most of his football around the middle now despite being a born FF. Not sure about Connolly either as he is just so erratic, but I can't think of a better option at the same time. The rest picks itself for me.

would disagree on C'oConnor.. This year alone the only threat he has been is from frees.. over-rated in gameplay.. andy moran is still mayo's go to man..

Will have to think about this for a while but honestly feel Connolly and McManus should be the only nailed down certs on every team. Can't see a valid argument for any player picked ahead of them anyway.

Unfortunately due to the championship layout we don't see enough of some of the great players in certain counties come the important stage of the championship.

Walsh needs to be more consistent before been worthy of inclusion in these sort of teams, talent is not in doubt and I'd argue he's one of the most talented players in the game. I do think he's improved a lot this year though, didn't see much ball in the Mayo game but his point when he left Keegan for dead was outstanding and he played very well against Roscommon but needs to do more with the talent he possesses.

Based on the last few years McManus has to be in, he'd be the first forward I'd pick Geaney has to be in although it could be argued that Quinlivan & Comer are better full forwards but don't have the luxury of playing in such a good side. Then there's Daniel Flynn but we haven't seen enough of him yet, he's certainly got potential to win All Stars down the line.

Would agree with all, but afrais a big no on O Connor, its not happening for him at all at the moment from open play, Paul Mannion and Bernard Brogan way ahead off him.

hoping Diarmuid Murthagh can show his quality in Croker on Sunday week, definitely has the ability to be top 6.

Hard for me to keep out Paddy McBrearty as he's been a stand out for us this summer but can't really take out any of the 3 in the full forward line.

Lets hope he stays clear of injuries, forgot him from my list of players who could potentially win All Stars in the coming years.

As for Cillian O'Connor he needs to start contributing more from play in the big games, his record in semi's and finals is very average.
