I'd say it's more a case that despite the increased interest in the game -- and even allowing for Wexford's big following -- probably there won't be more than 40--45k at the final and so they can get away with not opening it. It's a long long time since Hill 16 was open for a Leinster Hurling Final

No on that hill 16 is closed for this game. Why do the Hurling fans not get the option of the cheaper hill 16 tickets? yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11227 - 26/06/2017 15:46:02 2005830 Link 0 |

Coldplay concert is the answer to why Hill 16 is not open. I assume the stage will be stored under hill sixteen until the final whistle on Sunday. If the game is a draw the replay will likely be in Portlaoise or Thurles the following week hurlorhurley (Wexford) - Posts: 1660 - 26/06/2017 16:45:52 2005878 Link 0 |
Then the cheaper tickets should be made available for the Canal end. Bringing a family to Dublin for the day in the height of tourist season is expensive.

€40 for a father and son €80 for father, mother, son and daughter seems reasonable enough to me for Cusack or Canal End

It's alright for you yellow bellies, you're practically Dubs anyway. Think of us poor Galwegians out in Connemara. We've hay to save & turf to foot in the morning, and then the long drive & all the tolls into Dublin. Add to that a heap of pints before and after the match, and then a night in Coppers trying to get the shift with a distant cousin. It's like a holiday. Meanwhile you'll be safely back home picking strawberries whilst we we're still clapping the men in maroon parading the Bob O'Keeffe Cup around Croke Park. Doing what with a distant cousin? Whatever floats your boat in Connemara.............when you say distant do you mean he/she's managed to escape 2 miles down the road?

Don't think that price is too shabby in fairness. Compares well with any sporting ticket prices and God help you if you wanted to attend the concert. Now there saucy money.

Wexford's population density is roughly the same as Northumberland, which has the lowest population density of any county in England. Both seem deserted to me...........because, yes, I am a total townie. The Medway Towns here in Kent have almost 300,000 living here. No dramatic scenery to look at like yourself but I've no worries getting a kebab at 3am. Swings and roundabouts!
