Live Streaming Of Club Games.

(Oldest Posts First)

Great to see some clubs taking the initiative.

We've been a long time without any live games.

Might be handy to have a thread so users can flag games in their counties that will be shown on live streams.

In Dublin Today:

Judes VS Na Fianna, will be streamed on Dubstv - 5.99 charge.

WHCC Vs Vinnies, will be streamed free by WHCC (donation asked for St Francis Hospice Raheny).

Thomas Davis Vs RTL will be live streamed free on Facebook on Thomas Davis facebook page.

Clontarf Vs Boden, Clontarf live streaming free on their youtube page,

All 6.30 - Throw Ins.

Not sure on the following:

Crokes vs Raheny

L. Sarsfilds Vs B. St Johns.

Kickams Vs S. Harps.

Ballymun giving Skerries a lesson. 1-11 to 06

Sarsfeild ahead of B. St Johns 09 - 05

WHCC being screw turned by Vinnies after a bright start. Cormac with the early goal, Dublin hurler Eoin O Donnell is some footballer causing problems. You know who looking lean and dangerous man marked.

Clontarf featuring Jack and Barret from Mayo, being reeled in after a blistering start by a very strong looking Boden.

Castleknock doing a professional Job on Plunkets.

Crokes destroying Raheny.

Jude's two up Na Fianna in a low scoring tight game.

Second half's coming up.

All done in the first round of Senior A in Dublin.

Vinnies beat WHCC 2-15 to 1-13, Vinnies well on top going into last ten mins. WHCC got within a point, made some bizarre decisions with a point in it, Vinnies drew on their expierence and got a late peno, will need to improve if they any hopes of the championship. Dermo looking lean, being class without really breaking a sweat, man marked. WHCC don't look out of place at this level, learning curve though, it's a tough championship at Senior A and will have to learn some composure. Mossie like a fine wine, you can see Vinnies struggling when he calls it a day. WHCC have some really good young players, be keeping an eye on them. Eoghan O Donnell is a class footballer, the hurlers are happy I'd say they got in there before the footballers.

Clontarf after a bright early start run ragged by Boden. Clontarf featured a fairly quite Jack and Mayos Barrett making his debut. Hard to believe it was so tight at half time, with the Dublin Champs running out 18 points winners in the end. Young Dublin hopefuls C Basquel, Kennedy, McGarry playing very well. Keaney togging out, what a servant to Boden hes been. Boden 4-20 to 2-08

Crokes dished out a fair hammering to Raheny, 6.13 to 10.

Sarsfeild's ran out winners Vs B. St. John's out at the 12th Lock. 0-19 to 09.

Kickhams gave a welcome to S. Harps with a 3-18 to 0-12 pasting.

Thomas Davis great work continues with a 2-14 to 0- 11 over RTL.

Same old storey for Na Fianna all the talent in the world can't step up there when they need to and beaten by the Wiley at this level Jude's, 1-10 to 0-8 points. Kerry lad playing for Jude's did well, Jack McGuire.

Castleknock got the better of their local rivals Plunkets with a professional job, finishing 2.15 to 1.12.

Great to have some senior ball back, fair play to all involved for the streams, very impressive work by the clubs during these restrictions. Well done!!

Was Eoghan O'Donnell playing in the full back line? If he's that good surely the footballers will try to get him to play the football instead since the one position they mighn't have too many high quality prospects in is the full back line and with Fitzsimons and Cooper the wrong side of 30.

Quite a few lobsided games in there - the big clubs faring better out of the lockdown or that would be expected anyway and the smaller groups have sharpened their focus this year?

He primarily plays in the six forward in football a chara. Though believe hes played at the back on occasion. Good player as he is and one you would definitely have a look at if asnt hurling, but its tough work cracking the Dublin forward lines. Hes arguably one of the best defenders in hurling in the country while with the footballers hed have a job of work to establish himself. So not impossible, but highly doubtful, it wouldnt be the done thing up here either, Mark Schutte did it a few years ago and it didnt do him any favours. What a lot of people wont be aware of him is that Dessie was actually involved in the backroom team of the Dublin hurlers last year, so i would think he would have a loyalty to Matty any how.

The backline, we could do refreshing our options alright. Philly, Rory, Cooper, Fitzers time is kicking on but theres a few years left in them yet. Our worst line last year in the U 20 team that was beaten in the final were defenders, though this years crop were motoring well and ive heard some very good things about this years minors without seeing them. We've blooded a few at the back this league, while we have lads who can go back there at a pinch, POCB played minor at 3 and hes a monster. While Murch, Davey are of a good age and coming along nicely. Theres a few i like of Dessie vintage at U 20 id like to see get a chance, one Sean McMahon (Raheny), has been on the bench so wel see. But yeah we could do with a bit more depth emerging at the back. Though we play open enough really.

Sure was pal, Boden are Leinster championions and to be honest have changed significantly from the team that one the ALL Ireland a few years back, they are a strong and experienced outfit. The game was tight at half time believe it or not.

Skerries Harps just stayed up by the skin of their teeth last year, so Kickhams was always going to be a tricky game.

I didnt see the Crokes game, but believe it was the Paul Mannion show, and Cian O Sullivan and Rory O Carroll were moving far better then in a long time. Cian was man marking no slouch in Brian Howard. 3 debuts given by Crokes yesterday to very young lads. I believe the result didnt reflect the game, with Raheny being on top for 30 mins or so, but i believe Mannion was unplayable.

But yeah overall, the big clubs are strong and have a lot of expierence at this level and want for nothing. That said the likes of Judes and Davis are more then cutting muster at this level and WHCC didnt look far off it against Vinnies.

TG4 made a very poor choice in showing Sarsfields vs Portumna in the Galway championship today. Portumna were so lucky not to get relegated to Senior B last year and they would be in the mix to get relegated to intermediate this year if they had done so. Sarsfields were always going to win that match easy. So many other good evenly contested games in the Galway championship this weekend they could have shown. The best ones were actually streamed on subscription tv.

What's the quality of the streaming like? Is it worth paying for?

Quality was good on the 3 games played in Pearse Stadium. 3 very good matches too... Turloughmore vs Liam Mellows, Castlegar vs St Thomas's, and Clarinbridge vs Oranmore. The camera work on the game streamed from Athenry (Tommy Larkins vs Loughrea) was poor enough but not sure if the venue had anything to do with that. It was 20 eur for a weekend package for all 4 games......if there is the prospect of the games covered in Round 2 being as good I will subscribe for it again.

We saw 2 Cannings get sent off.
Joe's was a mistake by the linesman/ref and I'd be very surprised if it's not overturned. He was very hard done by.

They actually made the wrong call showing St Martins Oulart last week too as Oulart are currently in transition, Rathnure St Annes on at the same time in Enniscorthy was a brilliant game.
