The beginning of the great rivalry. Tipp came to lay down a marker and they did . One of the most intense matches I have ever seen. Thinking back it only makes me miss the games more. It also makes me wish they still played the game the way it was played then, man on man win your own ball stuff.

Kilkenny around 2006 with the introduction of their deep lying half forward line, deep lying midfield and compact half back line protecting the full back line were 1 of the 1st teams to introduce football style tactics to hurling....
