The government with guidance from the best health professionals put out their timeline and said it's OK for GAA matches to take place from 20th of July and training in small groups with social distancing from May 18th. I personally don't agree with the GAA then saying no activity at all until 20th July which includes keeping pitches closed and this automatically pushes matches back a few weeks as well. I think the GAA are being overly cautious. It could be 3 years before a vaccine is widely available we can't stop everything for that long and is there going to be much difference in the situation between now and in a few months? To answer your question, the only difference between now & a few months, will be a couple of hundred more people dead, but sure once you get what you want & the GAA want, who cares.

Yeah Golf has a few things coming up too. But there's a big UFC set of fights on tomorrow night (Saturday Night) too but probably pay per view and no one in the stands.

It should be interesting if nothing else. I wonder if tackling will be a lot less with lads being somewhat afraid of one another...though they're not as physical as the Premier League.

It's on BT sports. The last 1 had no one in the stands either, after a few fights you just forget about it. Should be a good card though.

Yes it's a risk to be sure. At a minimum they should be instructed to not go around high risk groups after the matches such as elderly homes or visiting their grandparents, etc.

Exactly that's going to happen with or without the GAA resuming. I think if club and underage games resume there isn't going to be any extra deaths. The people who are going to be playing these matches are at the very oldest 40, the virus isn't going to kill these people. Someone with underlying health conditions might have to unfortunately make the difficult choice not to play. Everyone else like managers, selectors, limited amount of spectators can social distance around the pitch. The government think this is perfectly safe and is what they intended. Underage and club soccer will probably follow the timeline and be back playing July 20th or soon after.

Let's say a player is carrying coronavirus but is not yet showing symptoms (as they'd have to be if they were going playing a match). How many other players would that player spread it to? I'm not claiming to be a medical expert and would like to hear what other people think but I think it would only be the player they're marking. If the player switched markers or his direct opponent came off and was replaced it could then be two players. Remember it takes much longer to spread the virus outside.
