Shefflin Leaving Ballyhale

(Oldest Posts First)

Well who saw this coming? The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering if he is making his first move to land another coaching job which surely must be vacated sooner rather than later?

Regardless, sore loss for Ballyhale.

Henry stepping down from Ballyhale Shamrock is a bit off a shock I suppose young family & work commitments

Serious Manager will probably be next Kilkenny manager after B Cody what a man to have in charge 10 all Ireland medals on field of play as far as i know best Hurler in memory definately TJ Reid on his heels.

Possibly has an eye on kilkellny job when it eventually comes up but managing a club side these days is just as demanding....a longer season too especially if your getting to and winning all Ireland's.

Exactly, and less 'expenses' and foreign holidays too!

I think he is a great manager, a shoe in for KK. Pressures in the modern game is tough on everyone, managers and players.

He has done the smart thing leaving on a high. Should ballyhale fail to win this years county title, he may very slightly ruin his chances of succeeding Cody. In the off chance Cody leaves this year the hes most likely the front runner. The thing is though, that's it's not impossible to see Cody remaining for another five years! It'll be interesting to see if that's the case whether he could join DJ in the back room team next season or maybe unlikely but could he come in this season?

There are a lot of people on here, from outside Kilkenny, who seem to know the ins and outs of Henry Shefflin's and Kilkenny's future plans.

Do you ever have opinions or analysis of your own or do you always just comment negatively on everyone else's posts?
