10-15 features a lot of early decade players with more recent players featuring in the backs. Interesting contrast. A lot of notable omissions also and a few players a little out of their position.

Picking this off both club and county performances.

Brennan would be my number 1, he was so important to O Mahonys winning 3 championships in this decade.

Moran and McKeigue were the go to man markers for their 5 championships between the Navan teams. It was rare that you would see someone get the better of them. McGill has be Ratoaths rock in their rise from Junior to Senior champions and quickly becoming Meaths.

Nothing really needed about Keoghan, he can play anywhere between 2-7. McGuiness set the tempo for NOM, versatile player, clever in possession but what stood out most was he always brought that edge. Menton's probably played his best football at wing back, like McGuinness he's a versatile player but well able to drive forward and take his score.

O Rourke was probably the reason Simonstown won their second championship, he gave some stylish performances with his aerial ability and pin point passing. It's no coincidences that Summerhill haven't won a championship since Gillespie got injured, he was a mountain of a man and got them over the line many times, it's difficult to replace experience like his.

Biggy mightn't have stood out too much over the last number of years but he pulled us through games that we shouldn't have won or other players didn't stand up in. Similar to Biggy, pulled Meath through games we didn't deserve to win and has been a consistent player for Seneschalstown. Sham was just a worked, never got the applause he deserves but done the Dooher and Galvin roll so well.

Wardy is still doing it, he was dropped way too soon off the Meath panel, it's rare you see him having an off day for the Tones. Bray was similar to Keoghan, just class, he could play anywhere in the forwards. I was playing a club game a few years ago, Peadar came off the bench earlier in the second half looking as if he had wintered well in McCabes but could he move, won dirty ball around midfield and kicked 3 or 4 points from play and swung the game for Ballinlough. He was so difficult to mark as he could play many ways and in all different positions.

you do realize its a team of the decade ? 2010-2020, Youre team is a good one but a lot of your lads played very little football for meath after 2010.

Brendan Murphy stopped playing for meath in 11, Paddy O'Rourke dominant meath keeper of this decade.

Niall McKeigue didnt play for meath this decade,Seamus Lavin has been excellent the last 3 years and his man marking this year was unmatched.

Anthony Moyles was a very very good meath defender but played one season this decade.

Caoimhin King was a good servant to meath but again got displaced from the team around 2012/13 by Mickey Burke. Mickey doesnt get the respect he deserves, King certainly no better than mickey.

Seamus Kenny was a class act but i think everyone would agree his best position was as a hard working wing forward winning breaking ball. Wouldnt class him as a better wing back than James McEntee.

Ive Gillespie in at 8 and Orourke at 11 to your O'Rourke at 9 and joe at 11. Very little in the difference there.

In hindsight i will agree with you on Peadar ahead of COS.

i commented immediately under my initial post that i would have Cian Ward ahead of Wallace.

Brian Farrell was good for meath but i would have Newman clearly ahead of him.
Newman nominated for an allstar in 13 and our best forward this year by a distance.

Are talking about the best team who played during this decade or who played for the longest??? Murphy would of played in 2010 and 2011 so 2 years , same as Lavin?

If we are talking about the better keeper Id go for Brendan Murphy

Mickey is a great servant but should he get in the team ahead of some of the names that are better than him but played less?? Id pick peak King over Peak Stoney

Brian Farrell is still producing Top drawer displays and was cut far too early from the panel , Was a tough call with him and Mickey but Id give the edge to Brian because he would be more accurate from the frees

I went with O Rourke because I feel he had more football in him than Gillespie

Are we talking about Team of the decade or good players who played in this decade? Players you have mentioned were very good players but unquestionably at the end of their careers at the begining of this decade . If it was 2005-2015 I'd have Murphy, Sham Kenny and Moyles in no doubt but from 2010-2020 we didnt see these lads at there best.

Lavin was playing with Meath in 2016. I can remember him playing against Derry in MODs last game.

Fair enough thats your opinion on King but i always thought he was a bit eratic and always had an error in him i would honestly prefer a peak Mickey Burke but thats football a game of opinions.

O'Rourke and Gillespie both would have been great meath players if werent robbed by injuries. O'Rourke played his best football for Simonstown at midfield but in fairness his best football for meath was definitely as a forward. Thats why i have him at 11 and Gillespie at midfield.

Farrell is still playing well but again time is against him, a peak Farrell against a peak Newman is a toss of a coin but this decade a younger Newman has been better, he was nominated for an all-star in 2013 for gods sake.

Think we could all agree the 6 Forwards were the best for the last decade , you can switch some of the positions but these are the best we had , All had a bit of class about them

Backs were a bit more difficult

Menton could easily go into Midfield either
All HB are great for driving forwards and can win breaking ball either
FB line - 2 of the two best man markers in the county and Reilly was a colossus

Meant to be Conor Gillespe in midfield not Shane aploogies.

Also on hindsight, I'd bring in Newman for McMahon and bring wither o Rourke or Bray out to 11. Peader Byrne doesn't get within an arses roar of the starting team of the decade, his best games for Meath came from off the bench as it was, how could he start on a team spread out over 10 years???
