Despite the fact that they are in the minority. Some of the best that have ever played have/had the citoge style. I would like to see what names make the list. The criteria to make it are an AI medal or an AS and it's not restricted to the McCarty Cup counties. I'll stick with my own county. Off the top of my head Pádraig Maher, Patrick Bonner Maher, Lar Corbett, Brendan Cummins, Paul Kelly, Pat Fox, Declan Ryan, Jimmy Doyle. No doubt there are plenty of more. He holds the top of the hurl with his Left hand when striking but also uses the Left hand to catch the ball!! Aidan Fogerty from KK hurled the same way. Oh ...hate to admit it but G. Offaly had a few very accomplished "lefties" in the 80s and 90s, such as Damien Martin, Martin Hanemy and Johnny Flaherty, but I'd go back even further to recall the most stylish and skillful left-handed hurler I've ever seen - the great Jimmy Doyle of Tipperary.
