Roscommon and Armagh, I think will get promoted with Cavan not far behind them. The rest could all be in a fight to stay up and take part in Sam Maguire race. Will be an interesting division.

I'd have Kildare and Cavan ahead of the two of them and think Westmeath Laois and Clare will be the fight to survive

I think Kildare and Armagh will get promoted. With Fermanagh and Clare heading for the dreaded division 3. rorysboys (Donegal) - Posts: 2404 - 24/10/2019 13:15:38 2245446 Link 0 |
Roscommon, Cavan, Kildare and Armagh are likely contenders to be in the hunt for the Division 2 final. Some see Clare as dark horses. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7842 - 24/10/2019 13:33:06 2245458 Link 0 |

I would expect Roscommon and Cavan to make the final, with Fermanagh having an outside chance because of their 4 home games. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 24/10/2019 17:28:16 2245533 Link 0 |
Clare are dark horses I think, they have great footballers. Byebyecola (USA) - Posts: 9 - 24/10/2019 17:58:39 2245545 Link 0 |
There would be stronger teams in Division 3 on paper then Division 2. But who knows how things will go. Fermanagh have the Corrigan brothers back which will help their attack. Laois have a new manager but an ageing team. Collins staying on a 7th year with Clare so they would have a settled team. Westmeath have some good players and would be capable of of being Relegated or promoted. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2763 - 24/10/2019 18:06:38 2245547 Link 0 |
Two of Westmeath Kildare and Laois to be promoted, Clare to have another good year and if one of the others slip up they to be promoted Armagh to go down, who with?? Could be Cavan or Roscommon. Double relegation isn't unheard of. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 24/10/2019 18:16:43 2245550 Link 1 |
With the introduction of the tier 2 for the championship division 2 will be the most interesting and competitive of the 4 divisions next year. ispeakwisdom (Roscommon) - Posts: 2487 - 24/10/2019 19:00:10 2245558 Link 0 |
Prediction, major controversy in Div 2, 2020 with one team relegated on last day to play Tier 2 by a wrong advanced mark decision in the last minutes of a game. The county that suffers that fate could also possibly be in Tier 2 & have discovered that their Congress delegates voted for Tier 2. Far fetched, let's wait & see. moc.dna (Galway) - Posts: 1212 - 24/10/2019 21:32:20 2245579 Link 0 |
None of the Div 3 teams would be stronger on paper than the best in Div 2. Armagh,Kildare,Roscommon will likely be favourites and all 3 side well capable of reaching the super 8s next summer. Laois,Westmeath will likely be favourites for the drop but if both peak for the league one if not both could stay up.

Cavan, Roscommon or Armagh for promotion. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1144 - 25/10/2019 08:27:28 2245631 Link 1 |
Kildare and Roscommon will go up, Maybe Armagh if they can get it together, although id say McGenney more interested in an Ulster Championship. Laois, Westmeath, Fermanagh and Clare will be fighting it out. I can see all teams winning and losing some games and wouldn't be surprised if two teams go down on the last weekend as opposed to knowing one is gone before that. Division 2 and Division 3 will be offering championship football. Will it be a competitive advantage going into championship or will it affect them like Division 1A hurling teams when they were battling to avoid the platform that Division 1B offered for winning All-Irelands?! legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 7842 - 25/10/2019 10:59:46 2245665 Link 0 |
We've a lot more underage success over the past 7/8 years to draw on than Roscommon and with all due respect, I don't think you've a player to lace the boots of Dan Flynn. We are the thoroughbred county, don't forget. Sweetspot (Kildare) - Posts: 323 - 25/10/2019 14:18:42 2245732 Link 0 |
