Ballyboden probably slight favourites overall but such is club championship that you wouldn't rule out an upset or two before the provincial final. Indeed in 2015 one of Ballyboden's toughest games on their way to the All Ireland was in Drogheda v then Louth champions St Pat's and it took a late Collie Basquel goal to seal the win for them. I believe Pat's had a late goal disallowed that day too if memory serves me right. TrueBlue35 (Dublin) - Posts: 206 - 05/11/2019 14:20:16 2247916 Link 0 |
From what I have seen it looks wide open. Yes people will rightly make Ballybodan favourites but they are not invincible and really should have been out in Dublin at the quarter final stage. They got on top earlier than their previous 2 championship games last Sunday but I thought Thomas Davis poor shooting really let them down and it was a closer game than the scoreline suggested. However I don't have a firm opinion on the challengers having limited knowledge of their form and quality of opponent within their respective counties.

Collie Basquel in some form shooting the lights out again today with with 1-4 from play as 14 man Ballyboden roll on in Leinster. TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 10/11/2019 20:50:39 2248931 Link 3 |
Bit of an exaggeration there. He was pretty anonymous all throughout the match scoring 2 from frees and the goal was the last kick of the game. The best player on the field was colm judge closely followed by Andy McDonnell. They gave 2 master classes and suffered from a lack of physical support as ballybodens physical strength off the bench won out in the last 10 minutes.

Be happy enough, to keep his profile low to be honest. Dessie Dolan not helping. ;) TheUsername (Dublin) - Posts: 4441 - 12/11/2019 19:48:46 2249317 Link 1 |

I feel like they could be on for another big year this year. I expect Ballygunner to improve on last year too but sure lots of hurling to be played before then Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 17/11/2019 23:34:35 2250077 Link 0 |
I'm just wondering here if Carlow's St. Mullins (aka) Cuala had clinched a place in the leinster club hurling final who would be fancied to win the final v Ballyhale, St. Mullins {aka} Cuala, or Cuala {aka) St. Mullins, two time all Ireland winner 2017 / 2018
