Im of the opinion if a few other county boards and GAA head-quarters funds and accounts were investigated and audited it would open a serious can of worms, if there is wrong doing in Galway and it is exposed it could be the start of a very bad situation for the GAA as a whole.

When is the GAA going to investigate the GAA? Just one example, not singling out any one person, but why is a man turning down a Galway job he wants and then go to coach up in Donegal?? Money?? how much??

If you look at the amount of galway teams that reach all ireland finals
both in men and women at all grades
there is huge exposure on tv for supermac brand
id say hes getting far more out of it than hes putting in
id imagine some big companies out their would pay a lot more for their name on the jersey

Is there a similarity creeping in between the financial woes of the GAA and those of the FAI.

Is it time for all sponsorship monies to be channelled to HQ in Croke Park signed into an account thereafter all expenses and expenditures to be requisitioned and signed off.

Is it time for HQ to close off the road to professionalism, rid itself of anything that would suggest the professional road is the one to take, could start by dismantling the stand alone "Hawkeye" get back to basics like removing the "Super 8's "from an already overcrowded fixture list, no more sky deals, abandon the road to "elitism" more openness and transparency needed, pull back on the annual ticket price increases, all sponsors should be issued with a financial statement on what their money was spent on at the year end, whether the requested it or not so that would keep most people happy.

When the same people are in charge for long periods it lends itself to miss-management.
If there was was a regular turnover of the key roles it would become very evident during transition if there was any wrong doing.

i cant believe what I am reading here.people seem to be suggesting that pat mcdonagh,a great proud galway man,is somehow undermining the county by asking where and how his money has been spent?
if any of you were sponsoring the local donkey derby with 500 quid,do you think it would be unfair to ask where the money went?
to me,the attitude strikes to the core of irish psyche of playing poor old me,how dare he ask that,etc.
and a bit like the overspend on pairc ui chaoimh,sometimes "ah sure be grand,send on more money and forget about it" doesnt wash.

Apparently Supermac has just signed a 5 year sponsorship deal last May 2018. He should really have asked the questions then. Not now. Will he be around next year I wonder. Part of me tells me that County board should tell him to stuff his sausages and chips. But the other part tells me that the County board have not been too friendly or co-operative either. Slán
