How Long Have You Been Posting?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I'd have sworn I've been in here since the mid 00s but as long as I can remember I've been posting under this username which I had to register; I can't seem to remember a time when you could just stroll up and write a post under a name you picked there and then, but I might be wrong. Even now as I write this I'm starting to think I remember coming to the site one day and suddenly realising "Oh look, you have to register now."

What the site really needs is a way for a user to be able to browse his/her (or maybe even anyone's) older posts. I don't know how many hundred posts I've done (I will when this goes up) but it would be nice to be able to back up an argument by referring to a earlier discussion from way back whenever.

Yes it would be nice to look back on our past posts. If nothing else to self check that we are consistent with our views. Especially when our own team is involved in referring controversy etc. I would like to think I am.

Here since in and around 2005 I think. Not the same username as then though. Looking at the Snuffy post asking ball boy not to be banned and seeing some names I haven't seen in a while. Floops and Bren from Tyrone, haven't heard from him in a long time.

I think I've been posting for about 12 years or so. It was very good back in the day and the debates and conversations were often excellent. Patrique came from a different Republican background than myself, (he was Socialist/Official) and we had some good old ding dongs but I had the utmost respect for him. I stuck up for Tyrone because I believed and still do that they were maligned more because of geography and where they came from rather than their ability. Spillane I think regrets the 'puke football' statement because he now knows that it took away from the talents of Peter Canavan, Stephen O'Neill, Sean Cavanagh, Phillip Jordan, Brian McGuigan, Conor Gormley, Owen Mulligan etc who were very good footballers. However life moves on and Facebook and Twitter have somewhat sadly overtaken forums like HS AND people have moved on and got older. C'est la vie?

Thanks for that Ollie. Much appreciated.

This thread is really cringeworthy.

Everyone reminiscing about how long they have been wasting their time on a nameless and faceless forum posting about topics that nobody really cares about.

Congratulations!

I didn't see anything about a hard border or brexit. Now they are things no self respecting southerner would care about. Whereas the gaa?now that is important

You try far too hard. Sometimes less is more when trying to be a WUM.

Says something about the intelligence alright of those who think their contributions matter a jot.

Yeah RMDrive was a good one. Loyal2daRoyal was another great poster.
Ballboy was a great WUM as well, until the day he got famously caught out on April 1st.

TheMaster was another Mayo stalwart who disappeared from thee pages.

The usual response of wummery doesn't wash.

He believes what he posts imo.

But yeah let's pretend he's been real clever.

I'm 'fishing' and you took the 'bait', 'amn't I so clever' schtick is a fairly tired way of putting up an unpopular and inflammatory opinion and then not having to have the ability or intelligence to defend it.

Royaldunne's pro-Loyalist persona is part of his character by now on here but he's always 'trolling' when replied to for some reason.

Cringeworthy???....why cringeworthy. If people enjoy a bit of banter and like to posting their opinions in an online forum of people with shared interests why is that any more of a waste of time than going to the pub or reading a newspaper? If you enjoy doing it why is it a waste of time?

You have to much space in your head. You have 650 or posts to your name. If it such a waste of time why do you bother?????
