He obviously wants to build his CV. He's not going to Wexford to win titles. I was wrong about Davy Fitz, absolutely love the guy now, so I won't write off Galvin. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8571 - 05/08/2019 22:36:29 2221360 Link 5 |
Oh my god that's so funny. Did you come up with it all by yourself?

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I'd say you came up with that devastating riposte yourself.

I think he'll no doubt get them promoted to Div 3. Possibly up to 2 the year after. But unfortunately that's it because they won't be winning leinster. Should add a nice bit of flair to the side line. Maybe even Rick flair knowing Galvins fashion sense. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 06/08/2019 01:04:41 2221406 Link 5 |
That's a good one now in fairness. I see what you're at there alright.

It will be a tough job for him. I think there should be potential to get back up to div 3. The footballers have looked seriously under motivated and poorly organised over the last few years. We won a Leinster u21 at football not that long ago and football remains a very popular sport at many clubs. We dont have many hurling only clubs or football only clubs in the county. Nearly all are dual clubs. Over the last few years a good few of the better dual players are playing hurling though. There are probably 6 certain starters on the football team playing for the hurling team maybe more. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 11477 - 06/08/2019 08:47:29 2221429 Link 0 |

Galvin Klein, saw this on social media. Well at least Wexford will be well dressed. fingalman (Dublin) - Posts: 233 - 06/08/2019 13:09:14 2221576 Link 1 |
Paul Galvin has found it hard to settle into a role within GAA since his halcyon days. avonali (Dublin) - Posts: 1974 - 06/08/2019 13:40:31 2221588 Link 4 |
Could be like Davey and the hurling. A bit of madness might go a long way in the sunny south east. Strikes me as a guy who is a good talker in a dressing room.. might be half the battle ponger (Cavan) - Posts: 534 - 06/08/2019 13:49:57 2221596 Link 0 |
I don't think lads who finished bottom of division 4 and didn't win a championship game can have any ego to be fair!

i dunno,i wish him the best but i cant see him exercising football support, which is generally small anyway,to the extent that Davy has in a hurling mad county

I only heard a fella talking about the same thing recently. But I wouldn't agree, look at Wexford as a predominantly Hurling County, it would take someone like Galvin to raise the profile of the county team. I couldn't see anybody from within the county with the ability to do similar. It takes people with high profile to spark interest in people and hopefully it would have a rising tide effect. Like when Micko took over Kildare, it was the best thing that ever happened. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 1893 - 05/09/2019 10:39:58 2232959 Link 0 |

Ridiculous appointment IMO. A county with a struggling footballing team should be aiming to get in a decent experienced coach/manager. Appointing a fella who to my knowledge has barely any experience apart from training subs on clubs teams to embarress themselves against Dublin D team. sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1142 - 05/09/2019 14:31:30 2233048 Link 0 |
