Replying To Canuck:  ""It is not Irish dancing" Neither is it UFC where you can hit your opponent with anything even the kitchen sink."
He was reffing to the question where he was asked why his hands weren't down by his sides. He then commented that it's not Irish Dancing, your arm is naturally bent holding the hurl. He wasn't trying to say that it's a mans game and you can hit people which is how the headlines intentionally made it sound.

you are right Brolly, but go back a few pages and you will find that there are very few KK posters but you will find many posts from the same few posters from other counties, they have said the same thing over and over,so many times now that it seems to me that they just dont like KK,now if thats the way the feel thats fine with me,they are entitled to feel whatever way they want, but when I pointed out the inconsistency of James Owens there wasnt 1 reply, thats what is annoying KK supporters, then we have posts about KKCo board appealing the refs decision,my information is they havent even received the refs report yet,99.9% of KK supporters have have no problem with the result of the game, except the normal feeling when you lose an AI,I have spoken to many of my friends and they all say even had Richie been on for the duration we would not have won,I have been talking to many Tipp friends and told them the same thing, you see Brolly its easy to tar everyone with the same brush when its very unfair to do so,on Brians comments on the incident,I would be very disappointed if he didnt defend Richie,Richie has given many years to Brian and KK hurling, what would any of these posters do if they were in the same position,Henry and Jackie were in the same position, they were out in all weathers training with Richie, they went thru the good and bad times,Richie helped them win AIs,someone said here that there shouldnt be any ex player of the counties involved in final be on the panel,I fully agree,I have been to over 50 Ais,I have been going to hurling matches and have had many an occasion leaving club and county matches to give out about the ref but no matter what I will never criticize any player from any county or their method of play, finally I hope the Dubs do the five in a row.

What ever. It is whinging of the highest order from Kilkenny and they should be ashamed of themselves. Will not have too many admires outside of Kilkenny going forward. I have supported them living there for nearly 20 years. The people I hear whinging now called Mullane every sort of dirty ****** you could think off. At least he was man enough to take his punishment that probably cost Waterford an All-Ireland. Opponents were told to go out and niggle him and did on that day but he never said anything. Grow a pair of b-lls Richie and Kilkenny.

Janey Mac I must have planted a seed, all my fault. Next thing we will hear might be as the last Brendan Grace used to say, " Your Guardship he pulled my elbow into his face". Game over, season over, let next year look after itself.

Newstalk always seem to generate headlines. They are very popular for their sports coverage but in my opinion they are very manipulative in how they go about things. They phrase their questions with a constant agenda and write headlines like this as soon as the interview is done. Their agenda is always self promotion and then they shrug their shoulders saying 'just doing our jobs'.

A player doing an interview with Newstalk and the same player doing an interview with another station are two different things. Perhaps lads with media degrees who have never played the game at a serious level are the wrong types to be conducting interviews. It is all about the carefully crafted questions and not about the blood & thunder of championship hurling. I don't like how they go about their business.

Yep, exactly right.
It's as if some of these lads know the system is weak and they'll wriggle out of their responsibility somehow. Keep doing the same thing and get off. It's like an invitation to foul.

Kilkenny should let it go.Tipperary are deserving champions.I recently watched a video of the 2009 Final which started the recent series of Finals between Tipp and Kilkenny.I still rate 2009 as the best of the Finals.A young Tipp team were a lot better than Kilkenny in the second half but were undone by 2 refereeing decisions, the sending off of Benny Dunne(a totally correct decision) and the awarding of a penalty to Kilkenny(a totally incorrect decision because the initial foul was clearly outside the box).Tipp Learned and came back and beat Kilkenny the following year. For Kilkenny, players like Huw Lawlor ,Conor Browne and John Donnelly will have learned from last Sunday and they'll be the better for it next year. It's all about next year now,not about last Sunday.

There's only one thing for it now.

First off an online petition demanding a replay.

Secondly be it either the first Walsh cup Match or league opener in 2020 every payer running on to the pitch wearing Richie Hogan t shirts, Cody included with Jackie insisting on Littlewoods bringing out a range of Richie Hogan t shirts in black and amber colours with a choice of round or v neck collars whilst Henry insists on a nice white option to wear on the Sunday game.

A behind the scenes Netflix documentary and podcast series investigating the various conspiracy theories since the game with undercover footage trying to answer the questions left, was there a 3rd unseen person deciding it was a red card and what influence do they have? Was it a George Sorros type infleuncer with money up in the stand in the refs ear demanding action (fingers pointed at JP here) or is there government influence at the highest level seeing as the Tipp sponsors were founded by the brother of a government TD, perhaps miss G O Doherty could be the host bemoaning these young Irishmen being denied their rights to not have players sent off for elbowing people in the head with no ball in sight, another example of old Ireland being lost!

At this stage it's surely the next stage to go to??

The reality is that Cody is nearly bigger than hurling or at least thinks he is. For years he has been managing his team while also reffing the matches, berating linesmen and intimidating opposing managers and sometimes being disrespectful to reporters.
When rules are attempted to be brought in for the good of the game but don't suit his team he attempts to block them.
The mask has slipped.

I have to laugh when people say Cody, an old age pensioner, "intimidates" opposing managers, most of them several decades his junior!

"Reffing the matches", "berating linesmen", hmm, reminds me of another high profile hurling manager. And at least Cody has never ran onto the field to attack an opposing player, what was that about?!

Time for the Gofundme campaign, and I've also written to all my congressmen over here hoping Nancy Pelosi will weigh in and promise no Brexit deal until Hogan's name has been cleared.

Just in case none of that works, I've left a message with a mate who's in the USMC. I hope it doesn't go that far, but we mean business and no this isn't an over-reaction.

A few points on last Sunday

Like many have stated I think Tipp would have won 15 v 15 by 6 or 7 points. However Tipp this year have left a bit of a sour taste. Gym specimen that is Pauric Maher goes down rolling from a hurl flick from Laois' Aaron Dunphy. A flick that if my 8 year old son received from his 5 year old brother, hurling in the garden, and went down bawling i'd seriously chastise him for. Cathal Barrett may have received some contact, but again the over exaggerated reaction you wouldn't have seen from someone shot in Gallipoli was hard to watch. It's patently clear there's a team policy of going down to try and get players sent off. I don't remember Tipp under Michael Ryan or Eamonn O'Shea behaving like this.

2016 was a great All Ireland win for Tipperary but I don't think much of 2019. A lot of the so called Kilkeeny 'sour grapes' reaction is stemming from Tipp's behaviour. It goes against the traditions of the county in a hurling sense and indeed in a political/rebellious one where they always 'manned up'.

Kilkenny don't have the hurlers of a decade ago, how could they. They don't seem to have a whole lot coming through. But one thing is for certain, everytime Tipp play them for the next 10 years they are going to know all about it.

The only problem is they mightn't get revenge next year, as Tipp more than likely will go out in the round robin.

Well said, gahfan. I have said many times that Kilkenny manipulate officials and try to influence the media. It has been happening for so long they (players and management) , are now completely "amazed" when they are finally called on it.
James Owens has done the game a service by making the right call, now let's hope Croke Park does not sell him down the river.

Great goal by NOall O'Meara BTW.. deciding factor in the game.

Finally got around to watching the game back without interruption. A lot of other talking points. I also listened to a few podcasts recorded before the game and the narrative was that kk could intimidate the tipp players. It was striking how physically stronger the tipp lads were. McGrath leveled both Donnelly and Reid. Barrett took Mullen out of the game with a huge hit and Ronan Maher does what he has done for last 3 seasons...just breaks lads up. Looking at the team photo and the two mahers look relatively small in the back row.
Another point I'd like to make is I think kk need walsh back at wing back badly. Buckley when back to full fitness is probably the best option for 6. Billy Ryan looks a good prospect and I think Mullen's best position is on the wing.
From a tipp point of view I think mark kehoe might be our answer to some of our half forward issues. I don't think ronan or Barry h will work in the long run in full back line.

If you lived in KK for 20 years you'll probably appreciate that Mullane left a very sour taste in their mouths after what happened that young fella back in that 2003 club game. It was well documented at the time.

I would say he got back a lot of that respect in 2008 when he was the only Waterford player to stay on the field and watch KK lift the cup.

They did the same thing with Joe Canning in 2012. Made it out like Joe said Shefflin was intimating referees and when you listened back to the interview there was absolutely nothing in it. The only up side on Newstalk is you can listen to the interview and make your our opinion, when it's a written interview you don't know what to believe.

That's a seasoned Tipp team who have years of strength and conditioning work behind them. You can tell by looking at some of the KK players that they are 2-3 years away. Huw Lawlor hasn't a pick on him, Mullen is only 19, Billy Ryan, Sheehan, Leahy and Browne are very light aswel.

I would have thought that was Kilkenny's last chance for a good few years. When DJ retired there was Shefflin and a bag full of top class forwards there. When TJ goes I don't see anyone there with the talent to take over the mantle.

Have been writing for over a decade od KK blanket approach to managing not just the players on the field but also manipulating officials and the media. Below is another example of this. Dilute the gravity of the offense {ah sure everybody does it " so as to get another " get out of jail card". Parade out your heroes of yesteryear and pundits of today who have access to a microphone preach the message.
This is great psychology, unfortunately also another case of Murphy's dog who was great o give it but he couldn't take it" .

Here is latest salvo from D on his cousin.J.. he forgot to mention that Richie goes to mass and communion every morning. hehehe and all that.

DJ Carey believes up to five players could have been sent off in last Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final if the rules had been properly applied.
Carey's second cousin Richie Hogan was the only one to see red and his controversial 33rd minute dismissal had a huge bearing on the outcome as Tipperary put Kilkenny's 14 men to the sword in the second half.
Speaking to KCLR Radio, the Kilkenny legend stated: "If the GAA has brought in a directive, my understanding of the directive is that a head-high challenge is a red card so there could have been five guys sent off.
"But are we going down the road now of really ruining the game and forget the Richie Hogan sending off, that's done with, but where does it actually stop?

-----------------------------------
On a personal note I am rapidly losing respect for some of these now retired hurling heroes whom I have greatly admired until now barring "the fast one" who should have been banned from the game a long time ago for unsavory tackles, instead of bei gallowed to pontificate on the Sunday game and twitter.
