Replying To Sweetspot:  "Moorefield won Leinster only two season ago and there are an additional 4/5 teams that can challenge them? I don't see the issue with the Kildare club scene.. I also don't know to what extent your head is in the sand about the current underage success rates, but the latter half of this decade has been one of the most successful periods in the counties history at underage."
Well said Sweetspot. In addition the Intermediate championship is very competitive with 5 Leinster championship wins in the last 13 or years so including Two Mile House winning the junior All Ireland final and winning the Leinster Intermediate last year.

The man is retired and spends a lot of time up around the Maynooth/Leixlip area anyway. Once he was interested it was a no brainer of an appointment.

Sure this was a done deal a few weeks ago when it was leaked but the County Board had to come out saying nothing was decided upon. They were obviously trying to appease other interviewees who mightn't have been happy with the done deal.

Kerry lads will might tell me I am wrong but despite success he really divided opinion down there.

He won alot but they had exceptional teams which does matter. Reading between the lines in 2012 when Donegal beat them there was a feeling the Kerry players felt he hadn't a clue about modern tactics.

Again Kerry folk might tell me I'm talking rubbish
