€40 in 2017 €45 in 2018 €50 in 2019 Ej (Wexford) - Posts: 355 - 08/07/2019 16:56:21 2207994 Link 1 |
So a 12% increase last year, followed by an 11% increase this year.

Your maths is far better than mine. All I know is it's gone up €10 in 2 seasons. But if you listen to the guardians of the GAA it is not about the money. Ej (Wexford) - Posts: 355 - 08/07/2019 20:02:22 2208104 Link 0 |
There is the option of buying a terrace ticket or watching the game on Television. It is a big game and it is not often Wexford and Limerick are in the All-Ireland hurling SF, I think it is good value for money when you consider other forms of entertainment and the amount of looking forward to the game or games. At the end of the day the games need money and it goes to supporting the games. It must be remembered the semi-finals and finals are the big games for the association. fainleog (Limerick) - Posts: 597 - 08/07/2019 20:55:35 2208147 Link 0 |

A 25% price increase in two years is a scandal in my opinion. I'd like to hear an explanation from Croke Park as to why they feel this is justified. Antifa (Donegal) - Posts: 143 - 08/07/2019 22:04:03 2208205 Link 0 |
Going on the cost of other things, I think its good value for money. 50 quid for 3 games or even one semi-final isnt that bad considering the cost of everything else in this country. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 08/07/2019 22:10:23 2208210 Link 0 |

Maybe GAA think Limerick and Wexford will draw massive crowds which they will and probably gaining an extra few quid per head boost the coffers. If Cork beat KK and Tipp beat Laois I'd expect close to sell out at both games. WildPundit (Tipperary) - Posts: 1709 - 08/07/2019 22:22:20 2208220 Link 0 |
Spot on. 50 quid now isnt what it was 10 years ago.

I have not said that it's not value for money. The question was asked whether there had been a price increase. I answered that.

I'd pay it as the hurling is deserving. But it's obvious the GAA are trying to make up for the money lost with Dublin attendances falling. Jack_Goff (Meath) - Posts: 2920 - 09/07/2019 04:58:28 2208270 Link 2 |
There was many a year i was at home watching the semi finals/ finals wishing Limerick were there. Now that we are I will gladly pay it (and we are lucky that the minors are playing as the curtain raiser). The one thing is the upper tier/ corners / LK4Liam (Limerick) - Posts: 19 - 09/07/2019 10:47:29 2208340 Link 1 |

I don't think 50 euro is bad, now when my student card is gone next year I might have a different view. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1726 - 09/07/2019 11:47:29 2208369 Link 0 |
Luckily you get to see 4 matches for the 100

50 quid is good value. Its actually cheap overall I think. bloodyban (Limerick) - Posts: 1710 - 09/07/2019 11:53:08 2208374 Link 0 |
You had an opportunity to see quarter finals and semi-finals for a total €105.00, great value, there is a choice and buy a terrace ticket, if you think €50.00 euro is too much. It is a huge game and with Limerick involved in both games i.e. senior and minor, it is great value. For some people the price will always be too much, the reality is the sport needs money. fainleog (Limerick) - Posts: 597 - 09/07/2019 11:57:07 2208378 Link 0 |
I'd prefer to see more matches during the May to Sept time at a lowere price than put the prices up by 50% to balance the GAA HQ books Brian_Coyote (Antrim) - Posts: 346 - 09/07/2019 15:00:14 2208483 Link 0 |
