If The 2019 Football Allstars Were Picked Now...

(Oldest Posts First)

Yes yes, i know this is completely abitrary and pointless at this stage....
As we all know allstars are only picked based on qf performances onwards, just a bit of craic and a chance to discuss some unheralded players if possible.

Dublin and Kerry probably a bit under-represented but i have no doubt that they will be looked after when the real thing comes about, anyway my pick for 2019 season if it ended now

Shaun Patton (Donegal)

Gareth Dillon (Laois)
Ronan McNamee (Tyrone)
Tom O'Sullivan (Kerry)

Eoghan Ban Gallagher (Donegal)
Donal Keogan (Meath)
Niall Daly (Roscommon)

Jarlath og Burns (Armagh)
Gary Brennan (Clare)

Ruairi Deane (Cork)
Paul Mannion (Dublin)
Jamie Brennan (Donegal)

Darren Coen (Mayo)
Conor Cox (Roscommon)
Cathal McShane (Tyrone)

Honourable mentions: Paddy Durcan (Mayo), Rian O'Neill (Armagh), Jamie Malone (clare), Darragh McVeety (Cavan), Hugh McFadden (Donegal), Cormac Costello (Dublin), Brian Hurley (Cork), Ben McCormack (Kildare), Stephen McMenamin (Donegal)

No Michael Murphy.

He's been one of the players of the year so far.

Yeah, Murphy would definitely have to be included. Overall though it's a pretty good attempt at what is a difficult task. Nice broad range of counties too which never happens in the All Stars.

i excluded Murphy only because of the simple fact i already had 3 donegal players included and was looking for more a spread, Murphy has of course been brilliant this year.

Mind you, all 6 of the forwards i have named there have been immense

No.

An All Star teamed picked today would still be dominated by Donegal, Roscommon, and Dublin. Absolutely no need to consider Kildare, Cork, Laois, or Armagh players when Donegal and Roscommon have had the tough draws and remain unbeaten.
