I would give Clare a good chance of beating Meath on Sunday.

Its great draw for both sides.
Clare are dangerous so Meath need to be careful here.

Why wasn't this fixed as a double header with Kilkenny v Clare minor hurling championship final? And put Dublin v Laois hurling on with Cork v Laois.

GAA made a ball of this double header

Meath to win by a whisker

Do you not remember this from last week?

royaldunne: "I don't want to see anybody who wasn't at yesterday's game at the next one. I drove in snow to ballybofey, and drove home. I drove almost twice to ennis (turning back halfway there due to cancellation) but next day out again, I drove on a Saturday afternoon to pairc ui rinn and drove home , I drove to portlaoise, and 3 times to Croke Park. I don't want to see anyone at the next game who couldn't bother their ass to go to a Leinster final.
Rant over."

So you won't be checking passports at the county border?

I think the league games in recent years will leave Meath in a good place going into this game. For some reason usually play well against Clare.

Replying To royaldunne:  "Of course we do. Should we win. We play donegal in ballybofey, lost by a late howler of a goal in league, Kerry in navan? Our record in navan is fantastic. Galway/mayo in Croke park. Have beat Galway last number of times we played them, and mayo haven't beat us since 51. Nothing to fear. We are extremely well equipped to play any of them. One off game against a county does not make us a bad team. But hopefully all other counties will believe it does."
You lost twice to Donegal in the league, the second time you gave away a 9 or 10 point lead. So I would say that 'extremely well equipped' to play us is wide of the mark to put it mildly.

And we went onto beat Mayo in the quarter final. If they beat Galway on Saturday we'll play them in the quarter final in Croker if we beat Clare. Imagine!

My prediction for Sunday.

Meath 4
Clare 3

Both sets of fans will be confident so there should be a decent crowd from each.

Can only see one winner here.

Meath blow their own trumpet so much that you would almost start believing their hype.

Truth is they have absolutely nothing to back this up with.

I'm going with Clare win by 4-6 points.

Not sure who's trumpet you're blowing wally but I ain't blowing any.

This is a huge game for us and in all honesty both teams got the draw they wanted. We've beaten Clare in our last 3 outings but they're coming into this game on the back of 2 wins whereas we were well beaten by Dublin and have no form of recovering from Leinster final defeats.

The game is pretty much 50/50.

Enjoy blowing them trumpets chief.

Replying To Game2Halves: "Don't feel too bad Kildare fans, it wasn't Meath you played today. You played what prob is second best team in ireland. We beat Dublin in croke park this year in the league with plenty to spare. Tyrone will go all way to semi final at least if not lift sam for fourth time. They showed a real lack of interest in Ulster but always have their eye on main prize. I think they like qualifiers because of all the games they get, better than winning province and sitting around for weeks."

Whats that about Meath blowing there own trumpet ? plenty of Tyrone posters doing the same .

2 or 3 posters don't represent an entire county. Most meath fans are very nervous regarding Clare. I was too for the league and it was our superior fitness that seen us through. I'd imagine Clare have caught up to us in this regard by now.

Providing meath don't have a massive hangover from leinster final I can see meath winning this handy. Meath minus 2 at evens is the bet of the weekend. Lump on people lump on.

No ones blowing trumpets. Apart from Tyrone thinking that they can actually challenge dubs lol.
We come into this game as underdogs after a bad showing by our forwards in Leinster final.
However we have beat Clare on last 3 meetings, but the margin of victory has closed on each one (5 in this years league).
On a separate note this will complete Meaths haul of playing teams. Upto this draw the only team in ire that Meath had not played in championship football was Clare. That comes to a end on Sunday.

I'd expect Meath to win this, but wouldn't be surprised if Clare pushed them all the way. You'd expect the Meath forwards to be bursting to prove they're a lot better than they showed in the Leinster final.

You wont beat Donegal, Kerry or Mayo/Galway

You will be playing a different Donegal than you did when we beat you in the league, twice may I add.

We have some decent players back since then.

I do admire the blind loyalty but its completely misplaced. The evidence those not support that, Offaly were unlucky not to beat ye in Navan only a late missed goal chance from MacNamee you were gone. You were poor for long periods against Laois and we know about the Leinster final.
Now the one positive is a very solid FB line, super player in Donal Keoghan. But realistically if Meath get through i cant see them beating any teams in that group.
I see a quick return to division 2 with Monaghan next year too as i dont think they are division 1 standard.

You'd want to have them back. Just so you don't need a goalie mistake or a disallowed goal to win. Let's all bow to the mighty donegal. :)

Bit if Meath only score 4 points again then Clare only need 2 points to cover the spread.

Wouldn't be putting the house on it just yet.
