Fermanagh Under 20'S

(Oldest Posts First)

Congratulations to team and management on last nights great victory over Donegal. Unfortunate to miss it but looking forward with excitement to the Derry game. Looks like a glimmer of hope for the future with the emergence of a few forwards that we feared were an endangered species. Any comments from spectators?

Out of interesting how many of the Enniskillen's St Michael's Hogan cup winning team is on that Fermanagh U20 team?

Good result for Fermanagh.

Have to back it up though. I've seen Fermanagh teams do this before then nothing for years.

They need to be getting to minor and u20 ulster finals on a consistent basis

I was at the game between 2 closely matched sides. Anytime Donegal looked to be getting on top Fermanagh were always able to find some scores. Fermanagh were stronger around the middle third and won most of the fifty fifties. After getting a great equaliser Paddy Dolan got sent off for an off the ball incident I did not see personally. This gave the impetus back to Fermanagh just when Donegal looked like finishing the stronger. Indeed Donegal worked a good scoring position and when a score looked on Fermanagh forced a turnover from a delayed pass and punished it. Congrats to all involved and best of luck in the next game. I think a big improvement will be needed as Derry will be stronger opponents than Donegal.

From a Donegal perspective I felt the team delivered a good performance. This was quite a young team with a few underage next year. I would hope the management team stay on and if not strong replacements come in. Disappointing however that a few lads who would be starters would not commit. Plus missing their best 2 players in Aaron Doherty and Oisin Gallen. You would imagine if both played last night the result would have been very different. Looking forward Donegal will have a good team at the grade for the next few years hence a strong management team is required. If the county board go with a similar calibre of the minor set up of the last couple of years we can forget it. On a final note I really hope this ridiculous rule preventing players involved with the senior set up is scrapped. For Donegal to make an impact next year having Oisin Gallen available is imperative.
