Barrett if injured or not 100% would be a bigger loss. Tipp have a great front 8 and good cover there. Less quality cover in the back 6. Also Kiely couldve had the lads pulling up treestumps during the week before the last game the game was completely irrelevant. Im quietly hopeful of a Limerick win but it will be close. Limerick have a good panel of 30 good players I think they will cope ok without Flanagan. Also think there might be a tactical surprise or 2 out of the Limerick management maybe mix up the puckouts keep it away from Tipps halfback line.

Your not been very generous there with only 3pts win for Tipp..... 7 or 8pts is more like it

I'd find it funny if you were a little bit more subtle about it.

I did. The last Munster final between Tipp and Limerick, to be played in Limerick, was a replay in 1996. The only other final was in 1922 (again a replay). So your so called "funny fact" is meaningless."]It wasn't meant to have meaning it's a fact.

I find it funny that "they" actually think they'll beat Tipp!

Its a draw for me. A draw double @ 80/1 might not be far away. Dec82 (Clare) - Posts: 242 - 25/06/2019 19:54:00 2200842 Link 0 |
I reckon a late Limk comeback to rescue a draw Breezy (Limerick) - Posts: 1236 - 25/06/2019 20:01:55 2200847 Link 0 |

Flanagan has been struggling with injury for most of the spring. Last year when at full flight he was absolutely crucial to Limericks cause. My comment is not as off the wall as you think as his physical presence alone- remember his bone crushing tackle on Mannion last year- is crucial. Our full forward line is relatively light weight without him. Do you really think Eoin Cadogan would have been man of the match if he was on a fully fit Flanagan.

I always found the people around Gurtymadden and Gortnagappa very generous, where they got you.

What's your game? I'm intitled to my opinion....freedom of speech, and in my opinion Tipp to win by 7 or 8pts and who cares if you like what I say or not.

Yes, Flanagan was crucial to Limerick's success last year but hasn't made the same impact so far this year (I didn't realise he has been injured). The point I was making is that, while Limerick have adjusted well to his absence this year, Bonner is an essential part of Tipp's forward line and we have yet to see how they will cope without him. Personally, I don't believe they will be nearly as devastating and they have no obvious replacement. By the way, I agree with your comment about Cadogan. He wouldn't have been able to handle Flanagan (2018 version).

Certainly brings something different than our other forwards. From a work rate perspective, McCormack and O'Meara at the very least equal his and O'Meara also offers a greater scoring threat and aerial ability despite his height. He will be a loss but not astronomical. Tipp are reasonably well covered in every line of the field apart from the full backline. The dominance of the 3 Mahers and Noel Mcgrath has covered this fact pretty well so far. The supply of ball into Gillane will need to be stopped for Tipp to come out on top. To do that we need to keep Limerick's two key men outside of Gillane, in Hannon and Lynch quiet. tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 25/06/2019 23:03:56 2200992 Link 0 |
Will this be another bout of "shadow-boxing", like the game in Thurles a fortnight ago? As it's quite possible that both teams will meet again later in the summer, it might not be the "do or die" occasion that many expect. And, of course, these the fascinating possibility that Limerick could lose to Cork, Tipp (twice) and still retain the McCarthy Cup! football first (None) - Posts: 1259 - 25/06/2019 23:37:52 2201003 Link 0 |
It's not a do or die game but the victor will get to the semi-finals. Tipp/Limerick will be looking to avoid a tough game against Cork/Kilkenny/Wexford/Dublin. I also don't think Kiely wants to lose another game in Munster this year. Hawkeye9212 (Donegal) - Posts: 266 - 26/06/2019 00:46:37 2201022 Link 0 |
