Replying To KingdomBoy1:  "Monaghan gone Mayo get a 5 point win against Down, Tyrone beat Longford by 4 and Kerry nearly bate by Cork a div 3 team.

Has the road for 5 ever looked so sweet for any team?"
Well eh ye actually....Kerry's road was pretty easy then up popped Darby to save the day.

Kerry's road to a 5 in a row in 1982.

In a hurling province...
Game 1 - beat Clare by 11 points
Game 2 - beat Cork by 12 points (Munster title)

AI Series Semi - beat Armagh by 10 points (AI final reached after just 3 facile wins)
AI Final - untested overconfident Kerry team trimmed by Offaly

Apart from the year in which Kerry played two games to reach an AI final, has there ever been an easier path than 82 and this for a 5 in a row?

Jesus...did not know that. Just 3 games? What year did they only have to play 2 games to win?

There seems to be a lot of buzz around Offaly - can it be true.

At least we had Offaly, ye have no challengers what so ever.

Sorry now but Offaly were hardly challengers. That win was their first in ten championship seasons & they haven't won it since. It was as much a surprise to them as Kerry.

Sorry just realised how harsh that sounded on Offaly. No offence intended.

I know it's gas. The Dubs had to play about 7/8 games last year. In 1980 Kerry won a Sam with just 3 games

Munster Final v Cork
AI Semi v Offaly
AI Final v Rossies

Imagine just 3 games for an AI. And to think that some Kerry men say that there is an asterisk against Dublin's titles. Now THAT is a Kerry joke.
