With Galway gone early from the hurling championship will this cost the GAA. KK don't travel until All Ireland final so they will bring a small attendance maybe the yellow belllies will travel in numbers but not to the same level as galway had. Dublin have a small support base .

Wexford out numbered Galway about 2-1 at the Leinster Final 2 years ago, I would say the GAA are delighted we are there!

More Wexford fans than Galway in Croke Park in 2017? Id say the attendance in 2 weeks wont be far off the record attendance for a Leinster final that year.

How did the Leinster Hurling Championship ever manage to survive before Galway deigned to enter it?

Maybe Leinster should bring in a new rule: Galway automatically go straight into the Leisnter final; and everyone else plays off to see who meets them in the final. I know it;s not the All-Ireland semi-final. which Galway used to go straight into, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

I'm sure the GAA will survive.

Is that one of the main things on your mind when your county exit the championship?

The GAA need a strong Galway hurling team. I believe they should invest 20m over the next 10 years as you are the hurling cash cow.

Let go of that bitterness man. As for Galway deigning to enter the Leinster Hurling Championship, I see you've chosen to ignore the role your own Nickey Brennan played in facilitating it.

You know someone's seriously hurting when they start a thread like this after their county exits the championship.

Would a Wexford vs Dublin final have attracted more then Kilkenny vs Wexford?

One of the most insular and ungracious posts on here in a long time.

Wexford have phenomenal support. Kilkenny easily match Galway and Dublin have a serious hard core base of fans following them for decades.

Of course I am hurting. But I know that we are out because we did not put up a score against Carlow, we were poor against wexford, showed how good we could be against KK. Then came up against Dublin in a tight pitch with a poor referee.
Fair play to Dublin they fought for their lives and had a will to win.

The top brass in Croke Park won't be worried about financial loss with Galway out early. A phone call in the morning to the agent of some has been band will do the trick.
