Good win by Galway. I honestly thought Kilkenny would win today.

I thought Kilkenny would win too. Thought the team was shaping up nicely albeit with too much reliance on TJ Reid but the team's deficiencies were shown up today despite the entertaining game and tight finish. The forward units of the big 3 in Munster would destroy that Kilkenny backline.

It was a cracking game, thought TJ Reid was sublime, Galway just shaded it, ref was poor, left Kilkenny short with a bad call and time keeping is obviously not his forte either. But still Galway just about the better of the two teams. But a cracking game.

Galway deserved their win but in the 70 minute a Kilkenny player was fouled it took nearly two minutes for the ref to sort out who to book and then blew exactly on 4 minutes injury time there should of been at least another minute to be played imo, that doesn't mean Kilkenny would of scored an equalizer but the game shouldn't have been blown exactly on 74 imo.

What I took from today's game:
Tj Reid is the best hurler in the country.
Kilkenny missed Walter Walsh big time.
Galways reliance on Joe Canning is glaring from placed balls and play.
Neither team will win this all Ireland.
Hurling rules are subjective to each ref and/or each team

I picked KK to win too. I'm glad to be wrong in this instance.

You and me both. The lads left it late but crikey, they didn't half turn it on when they needed it. Need to see this consistency from them now; God forbid we go back to the "depends on which Galway turns up" days!

The decision making was shocking in their backs today. Their goalie with two free men goes long...they gave away the stupidest frees to keep Kilkenny in the game yet after saying all that they won. They played fantastic off the cuff hurling at times that Killed Kilkenny. They just cant live with that type of pace or interplay any more.
If Galway could play the percentages and just manage a game better they'd win a few All Irelands in a row but they wont ever learn."
Bang on the money . It's time their management learned to enable the team to think on their feet . Given that they had an extra man for nearly half the match the puck out strategy was ludicrous . The other thing Galway haven't done for a considerable period of time is play for a full seventy minutes .

If Dublin win then Galway won't make the final .

Yeah agree TJ best hurler, he has everything except height and yet uses what he has to great effect.

And to rub salt into the wound he blows full-time on the Kilkenny puck-out. Couldn't blow it up fast enough. Stop clock needs to come into hurling and football asap. The referee's raised arm and three-whistle blast may offer a more dramatic denouement to big matches than an ugly foghorn, but fair and transparent timekeeping is more important than the whims of individual referees.

Have to agree with some of this, it was very frustrating watching TJ go unmarked especially when we had the extra man. Also, ref. did blow the game a bit early but I have seen Galway at the wrong end of that often. The Galway fielding was the highlight for me, but my word the sideline needs to study their mistakes. Galway did deserve the win and might just sneak into the playoffs this Summer but its tight in Leinster.

14 cards given 3 men put off not a dirty game by any means, time miss managed, referee was terrible for both teams Galway were the better team but couldn't put Kilkenny away. Hopefully those 2 minutes at the end do not cost Kilkenny a summer of hurling.

Only for TJ Reid having the game of his life they'd have been well beat.

Kilkenny won 9 contested balls in the air, TJ won 7 of them. He kept them in the game.

Galway were still very rusty and gifted Kilkenny so many soft scores with poor passing and a poor touch.

All 3 reds were justified.

Murphy was on a deserved yellow and he had fouled a few times previously before the block, which was probably a yellow anyway. Did you notice the ref put up 5 fingers to him? I presume he was indicating multiple fouls.

Hansbury, initially i thought was just a yellow but when i saw it again the tackle was head high. No complaints.

Awlward, I can't remember his first but the wrestling around etc was definitely a booking. To be fair he was tripped so I agree he was provoked but he instigated the wrestling.

Lots of cynical fouling in the game on both sides. Needs to be addressed. I am a strong believer in sin bins for yellow cards. 10 minutes in the bin ends all the nonsense. The only thing the makes me wary is the amount of times the ref books both players rather the apportion blame.

Tipp or Limerick maybe, don't think Cork would destroy that KK backline.

Correct, but we'd still go through in 3rd place if there's a winner in the other game. Only if there's a draw in that game and we lose, are we out completely.
