And maybe I'm softening up but I'm delighted ye dumped Fermanagh out. Prehistoric tactics at this stage and the championship will be the better for it.

Hard luck Armagh. Gave it a great go but the missed chances were crucial. Probably relied too much on a few men but I'd have to give our defenders a bit of credit there. Thought it was a great open contest. Ref done ok. Inconsistent at times but overall fair to both teams and gave the players benefit of doubt on the borderline ones. Good luck to Armagh and hope they can pick themselves up for qualifiers. Will be a tough proposition for anyone. Credit to our team. Some big big performers today but McVeety was a monster. fine margins. superb win for Cavan but if any of those goal chances had gone in for Armagh , who knows. I thought McVeety, Moynagh, Killian Clarke and Niall Murray were outstanding for us. Galligan nailed some difficult frees but his long kickouts were a worry. For Armagh Jamie Clarke and Rian O'Neill brilliant and Stephan Campbell and Jarly Óg Burns and a few others but we took our points well and I suppose that was the difference at the end. Donegal will be a massive step up in class. I rate them alongside the Kerrys and Mayos of this world (obviously Dublin are on a different planet). Congrats to Cavan on getting to an Ulster final. The conversion rate today was incredible and huge strides made under Mickey Graham. As for Armagh again O'Neill, Clarke and Byrnes superb. Seen Byrnes in Sigerson earlier in year and really impressed me. However the shooting today was sometimes really poor as was the goal chance conversion rate. From a Donegal perspective will need to be on it to beat this Cavan team. Any drop in performance will be punished. I think it will be a very competitive game regardless.
