The Sunday Game - Awful Coverage

Replying To Douglas_44:  "How many times did Ger canning and Kevin McStay mention "Jack McCarthy" and "James McCaffery"? At one stage in first half, McCarthy had the ball and passed to McCaffery, Canning said "Jack McCarthy, inside to the other Jack, Jack McCaffery"! Did anyone else notice this? Very annoying!!"
Obviously, Ger Canning has an uncle who is a Bishop or an aunt who is Reverend Mother with strong influence in the broadcast booth. His entire varnacular and cadence is much more suited for a flower show than a fast-paced hurling or football match. He mentioned at one point that Kerry are trying to prevent a 5 -in-- row. Ever hear of Seamus Darby ?? "Oh Dear!" .. Put him in a corporate box, out of the way,the from here on. We the viewing public deserve better.

Replying To Thelonesomegoose:  "Never thought I'd hear myself say it but I felt sorry for Pat Spillane today, it was like the three pundits were watching two different games."
Do you think that Brolly actually watches the game?

What about the lineup tonight, the O'Shea show, as for Michael Murphy nice guy, great footballer but "ahh sure you it was lovely stuff..." jesus wept he is like Daniel O Donnell and about as exciting and incisive as a moth in candlelight. Ger Brennan, oh god a drone, Colm O Rourke was falling asleep, Cavanagh is like a drill and as grating, a stick of dynamite would be perfect.

Watched the game back when I got home McStay was the most biased co-commentator i heard in a long while he was willing Kerry over the line seeing every little nudge from Dublin but nothing from Kerry. Normally have good time for mcstay very poor today.

The Sunday game live has being a shambles for years, but today was a new low.
In no was should anyone who has a connection with the counties playing be asked to provide analysis.
The squabbling by the panel today during and after the game was ridiculous. Grown men without the manner to allow each other to speak and Mr Brolly has a terrible attitude towards anyone who disagrees with his opinion.
Get them out

Can't see the point I having pundits from the counties - Gee Brennan was ready to say Ciaran duff red card in 1983 was shoulder to shoulder.

McStay didn't say much about cluxton being a mile off his line for the penalty did he? if that was Shane Ryan he'd have been down out of the commentary box.

Haven't watched it but I can assure you McStay hates Kerry with a passion and can never hide his contempt when he is on our games. He must dislike Dublin more if he was willing us over the line.

Michael Murphy comes across as a very geniune person, having no ego. He doesn't rant on or intrupt others, isn't looking for attention or the limelight and hasn't an opinion on everything.

Brolly should be axed from the show after his half time contribution. Claiming that Cooper's second yellow card should actually have been a free out confirmed for me that he is hopelessly biased. He would have been sick if Kerry won, worse than he was in 2014.

It's lauhable Brolly on about the Kerry propaganda machine influcing the referee when Brolly himself done exactly that before the 2012 and 2013 finals.

As a neutral, i loved every minute of the game yesterday, the only negative was listening to Brolly at HT. The man is beyond embarrassing, he has made it clear all year that he is a cheerleader for Dublin and if he wants to be then fine but he is being paid to give an objective view, somehing he seems incapable of. Add to that how patronising and arrogant he is towards anyone with an opposing viewpoint and it makes him unbearable. I know RTE think that having him on will be great for controversy but it's the complete opposite. I see a few posters mentioning muting the panel and that's what il be doing for both the replay and every game next year(or watch it on sky) as I'm not listening to another word of nonsense until RTE see sense and get rid.

I don't know...Personally I've always thought McStay to be leaning pro Dublin. Even his 2006 semi final commentary against his native Mayo he was willing Dublin to get the equalizer....guess everyone sees and hears what they want.

Also, when Dublin has possession in injury time and game level, McStay said "the signal has come to hold on and slow it down, if they do that then they will have the 5 in a row" In the highlights last night, the last bit was edited out!!

Dont mute it. Turn it over even if not to sky just dont have rte on. Lower the half time ratings for rte . AI final is the most expensive time to have an ad featured on rte but if the ratings sharply decline at half time the revenue will fall
