Results

Div 1
Ballygalget 0-15 0-15 Ballycastle
Portaferry 2-11 0-11 Ballycran

Div 1 Res
Portaferry 1-7 3-14 Ballycran

Div 3
Armagh Cuchuliann's 1-6 1-13 Carryduff
Bredagh 3-14 3-10 St Paul's

Big win for Ports. What was the story there?

Ballygalget really needed to win at home to Ballycastle but a draws not a bad result.
Have Ballygalget no reserve team?
Good away win for Carryduff in Div 3 and Bredagh would have expected to beat St Paul's.

Portaferry where just simply better all over the field, they wanted it more and got the rewards. Sad to see Egan suffer a nasty injury in the first game of the year speedy recovery hopefully!!
Ballygalget never fielded a reserve team last year either.

How bad we're ballygalget not one point from play and only getting a soft goal handed to them. Ref was very poor and Jordan Doran getting a deserved red

In fairness I thought the Ballygalget defence was very good throughout but the forwards didn't fire in the second half. I know Portaferry are a very good side but Ballygalget aren't too far off them if they can get a couple of their extremely fast forwards to deliver.

Galgets made little or no attempt to use the speed in their forward line in the 2nd half they played these lads out of the game themselves by their own tactics.

With the wind behind them they seemed obsessed with trying to drop ball on Magic at the edge of the square which meant the Ports only had the one thing to worry about and they dealt with the diminishing threat of Magic very comfortably by putting one man on him, one in front and another behind. Time to look at the resources you have and get a new play book I think.

That's kind of what I am getting at....up to some boys to step up to the plate too. It's over and done with, onwards and upwards and all that

I don't think it's as simple as the nippy lads stepping up to the plate the attacking approach by design took most of these players completely out of the game as the ball was being lumped from the halfback line towards the big man.

The skill set of the other forward players was negated by this tactic rather than these platers not delivering

I sort of see what you are saying but not as if he (magic) or the Portaferry defence were catching a lot of clean ball....there was a lot of breaking ball in my honest opinion so if the ball is being lumped up then our nippy forwards should be gathering up the pieces (obviously not all of the time)...listen this is just my view on it, long road ahead but I have faith in the lads, take her hawndy red hand

Well I suppose we could be as accommodating as you lads in Ballygalget where everyone leaves with the points in the bag.

And your lads did their usual and fouled that much that they let a large lead slip against Ballycastle who've got tanked in all their other league games.
One point in a home fixture against a team just out of Div2........................
