Replying To JDF:  "The most ridiculous comment of the year on here.

Walsh is becoming the most underrated player in the game. He had a very good championship last year and should have won an All Star was one of the best players in the league the last few months.

Mayo don't have a player like Shane Walsh."
Or Comer. Walsh is a better forward, more skilful than Comer and still improving using his strength to break tackles when before he'd go around defenders. Comer goes through defenders. His long range points are a thing of beauty. But easier for him to improve his attacking skills when he's only used in attack, take a breather, attack..
Comer is a better all rounder, leads by example, can get a bit heated but seems to have quietened that. Shane Walsh looks mighty when things are going well for ye but I think Comer can inspire his team mates and drag them to results. Plus why is he not just played forward and encouraged to work on and improve his attacking game when he's back.

Just my preference JDF... not meant to offend. It's like I prefer German cars over Japanese ones and brunettes over blondes. The fact that you mightn't share my preferences doesn't of itself make mine ridiculous. As I said after, I'd happily watch Walsh all day long ball in hand, and he's the main source of entertainment given the context of Galway's fairly dour tactical approach. But the question asked was if I'd have him in my team, and since Comer was mentioned too I just said I'd have him first. I was going to reply that we already have DOC, but thought I'd be jumped on for that, but then DOC showed his class on Sunday in the second half, and so has made the comparison more interesting. For me, DOC v Walsh, I'd have DOC, because he's more versatile and works hard... a bit less flashy, but not all that much. Mayo don't need a star entertainer as much as Galway do, but a solid reliable alternative to Andy would be very useful... thus Comer.

I think we're approaching a great era for football and we could see 3 or 4 different teams win All Irelands in the next 5 years.

In my opinion Shane Walsh , Comer and Ian Burke would walk into every county team in Ireland bar maybe the Dublin team.
All 3 nominated for All star's last year.
