Replying To OLLIE:  "Young Glen Matthews put in some shift for Hunterstown in their defeat to their near neighbours Mattock. I think he was on the Louth minor panel a few years back."
Glen is a fine footballer and always in the scoresheet for Hunterstown.

The league fixtures should be the same as last year only opposite venues as there was a draw for Div 1 and 2 last year.

Is it really that hard for the ccc to release the first few league fixtures. They usually start first week in April and run 4 weeks in a row but is it really that hard to release the exact dates now so lads who work on shift work can plan ahead?!!!!

It's nor hard at all, it's actually very easy. Have they got it done and they choose to delay, or do they just not give a toss. Stone age stuff it's no wonder the game is heading the way it's going

Totally agree I just find it mind blowing that they can't do these simple things. No wonder lads pack it in because you just can't plan anything and there's only so much chopping & changing you can do at work

All clubs were informed last week that the next rounds of winter league games will be played this coming weekend and the round after that on Patrick's weekend. Looks like they want to run off these competitions in full before the leagues start

That's harsh. Games for the last 3 weekends and clubs were notified last week that the Paddy sheelan and Kevin Mullen quarter finals and the PSS and KMP will take place this weekend. I take it they have to do draws

It's not really harsh at all. The rest of the National League games are fixed all the way up to the final, as are Round 1 and 2 of the Leinster Championship, and the first round of the Qualifiers.

The only variables for club fixtures up as far as mid-June are whether Louth reach the final of Division 3, and whether we beat Wexford. Even if we beat Wexford, we know we will be playing in the first round of the Qualifiers.

So it should not be a big problem for the fixture makers to put together a schedule for all Divisions up to the middle of June at least. In reality, it should be doable for the entire season, and if Louth do go on a bit of a run through the qualifiers, the usual start date of the club championships in July would get pushed back if necessary.

There should be no reason this gets put to paper and circulated. But it won't happen.

Agreed. I just will never understand why we can't have a master fixture list available in this county. Of course it is impossible for it to be set in stone. But at least having something to give managers and players an idea of how the can plan their seasons, social life etc. It really is not rocket science. Lack of communication leads to frustration and, clearly, leads to drop out. WIth summer soccer kicking in, little things like this need to be addressed.

Main leagues start last weekend of March, with a further 4 rounds each weekend in April.
Only proviso is that if Louth reach Div 3 League final, then Rd 1 will be put back.
No confirmation of day or time matches will be over the weekend as the CCC are dealing with an avalanche of requests from clubs to accommodate weddings, dinner dances, fundraisers etc.
Delegates also supplied with full list of Rds 1-11 for Main Leagues.

Why not release the fixtures and if clubs cant play that weekend, they must have the game played before the next League game. Its not rocket science.

My lads U-16 soccer team, has a full list of every fixture (including cup weekend) until Oct (the same for U-13,14,15 and 17 have also been provided to each team.

Its not that hard to make up a fixture list

Q-Final - Tuesday 2nd July
S-Final - Tuesday 9th July
Final - Friday 19th July

The answer to your question is I'm not sure. If we lose in the Q-Final, there will probably be zero impact. However an extended run could delay the start of the club championships. There may latter rounds of the league still to play, which the CB might slot in here? There's always the possibility that with the first two U20 games being midweek, the club championships run on at the weekends regardless.

It all depends on the CB's approach to this competition. I'm not sure what their stance is on it.
