Highly unlikely. Wexford have some very good players but not enough to challenge for an All Ireland. They've gotten better after last years campaign but I think are about 2 forwards and a midfielder and back away from challenging. But their panel is getting bigger..
Waterford, Limerick,Clare ,Galway, Cork, Tipp,Galway and maybe Kilkenny when the Ballyhale guys are back are the contenders with Dublin and Wexford capable of Knockong out a contender but not contending themselves.both these two counties have no underage All Irelands in the last 10 years and lack a small bit of class

I hope somewhere down the line in the championship we get to show Limerick that we 'lack a small bit of class'.
Obviously you're still wearing your beer goggles from winning your first senior all Ireland in how many years?

Well done to Carlow on your victory yesterday. We'll have to lick our wounds now.

wexford won't win an allireland playing with 5 forwards nothing to do with hurlers....davys negative way of playing won't work.

No I don't drink. I dont for one second want to patronise people here but where are Wexford going to get 1.22 or thereabouts from that forward line. Rory O Connor is excellent, McDonald is sometimes and Lee Chin occasionally scores but never more than 3 points from play. When one of these guys is off then its curtains.

Oh Please EJ spare us the old so many years thing. Just to refresh your memory. From 1887 to 1955 Wexford won one All Ireland Hurling Title and they now have one All Ireland in 50 years (and counting). They won no National League since 73, no U21 since 1965 and no minor All Ireland since 68.
Any of the counties outside the 'big three' do not need to sneer at any other 'lesser' counties victories.

the day of 6 forwards is long gone,players and games interchange so much.

agreed tom morrissey and the other forwards help out the defence but also play as forwards....wexfords extra defender sits in front of the fullbk line and stays there......ye were the very ones slating davy here after the limerick match.....that wont work.

I wasn't slating Limerick hurlers or Limerick hurling. In fact you won't ever see or hear me doing so about any county's hurlers or hurling. It's a game played by amateurs that put in huge commitment and self sacrifice. Every county regardless of past or more recent success does their utmost with the resources available.
Most hurling folk including me were delighted that Limerick finally got there last year.
My point was that just because your county won the all Ireland last year does not give you the authority to demean another county's hurlers.

Great to see Dublin topping Divison 1B. Steady progress since Cunnigham stepped down in 2017.

go look at yesterdays match again.kevin foley was around midfield/half back line as much as in front of full back line.

It looks like the groups for next years league has been decided already. According to whats being reported, Division 1 next year is going to be :

Group A: Limerick, Tipperary, Galway, Waterford, Westmeath, Winner of Kilkenny v Cork

Group B: Wexford, Laois, Dublin, Carlow, Clare, Loser of Kilkenny v Cork

Its supposed to be 2 groups of equal strength. With all due respect to the teams in group B, doesn't the above allocation seem a bit lopsided?

What they should do is start off at the top of Div 1A and put then in group A, then next team down, put them in group B, next team B, next team A, next team A, etc, all the way to the bottom of Div 1B:
1A-1 --> Group A
1A-2 --> Group B
1A-3 --> Group B
1A-4 --> Group A
1A-5 --> Group A
1A-6 --> Group B
1B-1 --> Group B
1B-2 --> Group A
1B-3 --> Group A
1B-4 --> Group B
1B-5/6 (winner of play-off) --> Group B
2A-1 --> Group A

If you did that, you'd get:
Group A: Limerick, Tipp, Kilkenny, Waterford, Galway, Westmeath
Group B: Wexford, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Laois, Carlow

And then you could look at last year's Championship (or even this year's! Better again! League doesn't recommence till 2020) and swap teams a little if necessary.

In fairness to whoever came up with that though, they're still the same amount of 1A teams in both groups, which means there's the same amount of 1B teams and Westmeath in both.

It certainly does..5 contenders in the first group and 2 in the second.

Spot on. Foley "our sweeper" came up and scored a point from the half forward line. He was not just sitting in front of the full back. A quality player no doubt.

Group A is way stronger alright.

Dublin topping 1B ahead of Galway and Waterford and Wexford finishing 2nd in 1A have put an unexpected spin on the groups for the next 2 years.

Quite simple really. Look at the goals and points scored for each team in the league tables this year.
