Derry Vs Antrim

(Oldest Posts First)

Derry do not belong in division four; we are a division two team at most currently. But our issue is that we don't respect opposition enough, we think that we just have to turn up half the time but now we have players that left in the past back in the panel who have been missed vitally; the youth in team is scary, the potential of the young lads is class, so if that continues we know that we have a bright future in Derry Football. Antrim have a few good players and it's always good to have a go at out neighbors, I see us winning at the end of it.
Derry +4

Derry will likely win.

You do deserve to be in division 4 though. You'd 7 games in the league last season to show that you didn't and you couldn't.

We deserve to be I'm division four based on our attitude in the past 5 years and performances in the past 5 years. But with the current group we have now there is no reason as to why should not get promoted. We have a manager that enjoys attacking football but also knows that in the modern game that you will have to go defensive at some stages of a game. We have players who want to play attacking football and are also top quality. If we don't respect opposition like have in the past few years we will not get promoted. As for Antrim they are the other team that I think will be promoted.

Of course Derry belong in Division 4.

If they didn't they wouldn't be there. It's how league football works.

Derry with 4 or 5 to spare. The league standings are a fair reflection of where teams are at. The reality is Derry are a division 4 team now. But I would fancy them for promotion. They have the ability to get out of division 4.

Derry are a Div 4 league team completely on merit and shouldn't go in to this Division with delusions of grandeur. That aside I see it being a lot more comfortable than the 4 points oakleafsir and will be happy if we keep the defeat to single figures.

I don't know why Antrim are always fancied for promotion from division 4. Recent years have proven we are every bit a division 4 quality side with very little to be excited about for the future.

Derry have got reasons to be optimistic going forward, but they can be their own worst enemy as well. Fall outs and grudges seem to be as prevalent there as they are in Antrim. But they should still be able to breeze past us if they're in any way focused.

Is Patrick McBride involved this year for Antrim? If so, will he deployed in attack again this year?
