Westmeath have struggled in first 2 games. Hard to see the winning away on the back of that. Happy to see John Heslin back in training. Hopefully someone tells him about the offensive mark.

I think Offaly and Louth will be a draw too..if not a Louth win...

There is no 2 predictions the same that in itself tells us how tight div 3 appears to be.

Westmeath will not beat Down going on the opening 2 rounds performances. We struggle away to Northern teams. Offaly made a good fight back against Longford I reckon they will pip Louth, Laois will beat a poor enough Sligo team and a hungry Carlow team will beat a Longford team still waiting on players to come back.

Down and Westmeath could well be another draw. Will be very close, like most games in this division really.

Laois should beat Sligo easily enough, especially with Donie Kingston starting his 1st league game. Laois by 6 or 7

Offaly should just have enough for Louth I feel, again a close one, maybe just by a point or 2.

Carlow will beat Longford IF Paul Broderick is playing. We would have won that game in Westmeath last Saturday if he played, always good for a couple of pts from play and gets almost all frees. We didn't score much from play and missed a few frees last week. If he is missing again, might be another draw on the cards.

Another great result for us considering Robbie Smyth was added to the ever growing list of missing players. I thought when Broderick came on for the secon half that would swing it for Carlow but the boys dug deep....still not safe though but another win along the way should do it.

Yes Longford are very impressive and lead the way in a very tight league
Longford 5
Laois, Down and Louth 4
Westmeath and Carlow 3
Offaly 1
Sligo 0.

Disappointed with out result today but hats off to Longford.
Offaly and Sligo need win next time so as not be further adrift

Offaly had 15 v 13 in the second half, Louth a player sent off, and black carded, and couldn't close out the game.No room for error anymore, or it's relegation once again. Looks like London calling in 2020, unless Offaly get it together.
3 winnable games, 2 at home, and 1 point.

Replying To The Real 1944:  "Interesting results in what will be a very close division. Great win for Laois in Down last night. Donie Kingston coming on at ht seems to have won them that game, great player. Laois are a good side and will be hard stopped I think.
Super win too by Longford with so many missing. But I think that says a lot about Louth and they might follow a few other sides by going from Div 2 to Div 4 in consecutive years.
Big win by Westmeath in Offaly, came back from the dead it seems and following on from their O'Byrne cup win must be feeling good about themselves now. Tough one for Offaly to take though, must have thought at 8 pts up they had it won.
Nice start to life in Div 3 for Carlow, I was at the game as it was pretty comfortable really. Sligo had no clue how to break down our defensive system and only got 1 point from play in the entire game. Brendan Murphy ran the game and All Star nominee Paul Broderick scored 1-5. Tougher tests ahead for sure, but great start. Reckon Sligo will be facing Div 4 next year."
You were saying, I think Louth are now second in division 3.

Replying To Fairplayalways:  "we got a good mixture of results and games in general over the weekend...Longford won with a fair few missing...Westmeath over took Offaly to pinch the points in Tullamore...Offaly appeared to tire and were down to 14 for the last 8 minutes but momentum had swung Westmeaths way well before those last 8 minutes...Offaly have a tough away game in Longford now next week which is a must win if they are to entertain any hope of promotion at all...Carlow had a surprising easy win over Sligo...Laois I think surprised everyone with the margin of their win (even winning in Down was a big ask fullstop!)...Down are a strange team...I hear things arent good up there over a new stadium and its location and some players have opted out etc..not sure how accurate all that is but Gaelic football needs Down...I can see some counties struggling to beat them particulary at home..Laois were very impressive I hear on Saturday night so we cannot really say how bad Down were, if ye get my drift...Westmeath might be the team to get promoted maybe with Laois..lots of twists and turns to come..."
No mention of Louth.
