Perhaps today's Corofin Clann na Gael result will put Paul Coggins' comments into perspective and put a degree of realism into matters. He thought they performed well!!! A good junior team in Longford would beat Clann na Gael. London clubs should never be allowed near the All Ireland club senior series. Perhaps the Intermediate or Junior where they might buy a victory. "Buy" is the operative word too as they have spent the best part of 30 years spending good money which could be used otherwise in luring mercenaries over to London in the hope of winning a football match. Thankfully they have got nowhere near it so far and as long as decorum rules they never will. Get them out of here!!!

Clann na Gael are the Roscommon champions.

Corofin won the All Ireland Club Final by 15 points last year. There are not very many teams in Ireland can put it up to them.

Steady on good man. Roscommon clubs have been far more successful than Longford clubs over the last 10 years. Clann na nGael got a bad beating today, but it can happen against an excellent team like Corofin if everything clicks on the day. Finbarr's also got a trimming against Crokes, but I wouldn't say they're a poor team either.

Corofin would prob beat the Longford county team.tcg had 2 tough games before that not sayn they would have won but still.I think they should play in the IHC like the senior hurling winners do.taught Gabriel's would have beat toureen tho.....

Probably one of the most unfair comments ever on hogan stand , all the proud Irish men that emigrated who kept a sense of home playing Gaelic games and a know it all from Longford of all places making fun of them . Easy known you never did a hard days work in London and had a 3 hour return tube trip to training . Those lads should get medals not been ridiculed by know it alls like yourself .

Longford Junior teams don't even compete in the Leinster Club Junior Football Championship. Longford are represented by the runners up in the Intermediate Football Championship.

You are a disgrace to the GAA to even suggest that UK clubs are not worthy of inclusion. You clearly have done no research with your suggestion that teams are buying players as 6 players on the TCG team are local and they have many other homegrown players coming through. They are not in the habit of buying players as they develop their own and their reserve team won the junior in London this year with an entirely homegrown team.

Not many teams can live with Corofin so would be interesting to see how Mullinalaghta would fare against them or Dr. Crokes. I also haven't heard of too many junior teams in Longford setting the All Ireland series on fire over the years but am open to correction given you encyclopedic knowledge of all GAA matters both inside and outside of Longford.

A bit more respect from you for people who are working hard to make sure that they GAA survives in the UK would be in order. The likes of Coggins have done huge work for the GAA in London and the development of homegrown talent while you probably sat on your hole spewing out bile on the internet. Great gael that you are!

Only on hoganstand would you have to explain the obvious to a clueless poster. What a ridiculous thread and OP post.

Three years back the Longford intermediate champions just scraped past Amsterdam in the Leinster junior championship (as did the Dublin junior champions this year).

I imagine the London senior Champions would easily hold their own at that grade. They have been mostly competitive in the senior All-Ireland club series over the years.
