That's an amazing jersey. JP doesn't want a sponsor on it recognising the teams status as All Ireland champions. A touch of class. bloodyban (Limerick) - Posts: 1710 - 02/11/2018 19:30:52 2149311 Link 1 |
Class. JP is some man. Limerick are lucky to have him. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11230 - 02/11/2018 20:13:59 2149315 Link 3 |
Have we just seen the start of the green machine in hurling to match the blue machine in football? mrsme (USA) - Posts: 172 - 02/11/2018 23:10:27 2149344 Link 0 |
So all the other counties with sponsor's name's on their shirts have no class? But Limerick, sponsored by multi-millionaire J. P. McManus are above the rest.

Yes, you classless cat. that's exactly what he meant... Maybe read the post again. Slowly this time, without looking for something to be outraged by. skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1062 - 03/11/2018 08:44:10 2149362 Link 2 |

No that's not what I meant. Limerick have the option due to the generosity and wealth of their sponsor to have a jersey with no advert or sponsor on it. To imply that I meant the Likes of Kilkenny or Clare or Tipp don't have class is pedantic and ridiculous

Well, if having no sponsor is a touch of class. Doesn't that statement imply that having a sponsor is not a touch of class? If having a sponsor is also a touch of class, then how is having no sponsor any different? CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1643 - 03/11/2018 18:49:07 2149432 Link 2 |
It was the meek and inoffensive part. But now what I'm saying is that Limericks elegant and timeless jersey without the sponsor on the front is now the best GAA jersey. I'm throwing it out there.

Ah I don't really get as worked up over these things as my post might suggest, I'm just (as you guessed) a pedant and have a love of logic in my heart. Whether it's classy or not, it's a nice change to a jersey, and especially nicer for Limerick to be in so good a financial position that they can afford to forgo a sponsor.
