Anyone willing to have a go at picking a team of the noughties made up solely of Dublin and Tyrone players? Just for a bit of banter. Concerned_Supp (Westmeath) - Posts: 71 - 31/08/2018 16:03:41 2137954 Link 0 |
That's an incredible team . Id maybe move Gormley to 6 and James Mac to 5,, but that's v harsh on Cian O' Sullivan. I'd have to watch some of those Tyrone finals again as Dublin team more in my mind.

Swap in Johnny Cooper for Ricey and Stephen O'Neill for Mugsy Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8166 - 31/08/2018 16:48:12 2137972 Link 0 |

The half back line was the hardest to pick. James McCarthy is so unlucky to lose out, a victim of his own versatility maybe? It was a toss up between himself and McCaffrey for left half back and I went for the speed merchant. Philip Jordan and the McMahon brothers up there too.

No Ricey has to stay. Cooper is next best in the full back line. SON had his injury problems and didn't start as much as Mulligan. 2005 was SON's greatest.

Tyrone and Dublin players from 2000 up to the present day. Waiting for someone to pull me up on the noughties... What do we call this decade anyway? Concerned_Supp (Westmeath) - Posts: 71 - 31/08/2018 17:29:04 2137988 Link 0 |

No Ciaran Kilkenny? May be too early for him but 2 years time he'll be regarded as one of the best HFs of his generation. An incredible work ethic, reader of the game and apart from good distribution has now added high score rate to his game. Watch this space!!

For me a win for Red Hands with a few players shown red cards and a few blacks - that Tyrone team could play ball and had plenty of hard men who could mix it also. Their main skill was how they could change tactics mid game without being told - I rate this current Dublin team big time however and the fact they are gunning for a 4 in a row says it all.
