Dublin's New Style

Yes Dublin are very hard to watch but they are effective though not easy on the eye ...they are the only team to play keep ball when they have grinded out a few points to take a lead with clock running down, most counties have too much pride to do that ....Tyrone today against Donegal still went for the jugglers with time running out, that takes guts, no chance of mcgeary playing sissy keep ball

Donegal weren't even trying to ruffle Dublin's hair several weeks back, never mind go for any jugular...

We werent play keep ball today - horses for courses....

Now the real stuff begins....!

Jim has a huge selection headache for the semi with so many of the extended squad performing well today..
The impact of O'Gara impressed me greatly today - usually more miss than hit, but today he was on fire and Costello also.
Flynner also held his hand up for inclusion.

Now its time to let loose - hopefully...!

Substitute the word "stupidity" for "pride" in your post and it will actually make sense. Not many teams have the skill to play "sissy keep ball" when the situation demands it. The Dublin team does have that skill.

I hate those Jugglers throwing their balls in the air and generally poncing about. Never reach an AI final IMO.

Anyone who thinks that the Dublin players are not highly skilful knows diddly squat about gaelic football.

26 unbeaten in the championship yesterday.

I thought we went a bit old school and shot the lights out, we can still do it if we need to.

How good was Cormac Costello. Very,

Replying To MuckrossHead:  "Name me a team that doesn't set up defensively nowadays when they don't have the ball especially against Dublin?

I was just making an observation that in years gone by Dublin would have put teams to the sword once they got on too but that policy seems to have changed.

Many of us are secretly glad to see this change but I enjoyed the swashbuckling style of Dublin especially if Donegal weren't at the receiving end of it!"

We will take every game as it comes and try not to be too predictable, We are as dangerous as ever if given the chance, but like any team can get caught if we lose the desire or if a few players are off form. . We were down to 14 men against a defensive Galway team in this year's league final , yet pushed on and won by 4 points. We had Dermot Connolly in our ranks against Donegal in quarter final 2016 yet Ciaran Kilkenny had record number of possessions as we played the ball across the pitch and only Mannions goal killed it at the end. We werent swashbuckling that day so to say this is new is being selective.
Saturday will require something different and hopefully we are up to the challenge .
