Kildare Terribly Naive

(Oldest Posts First)

Kildare have some amount of talent on their hands. But. They remain so tactically clueless when it really matters and again were flat energy wise on the big day. Took wrong options time after time and continued with a senseless cross field passing game. Cian O Neill was brilliant in the Newbridge affair but questions have to be asked about Kildare tactics etc on the field of play.

Terrible to watch. They should have beaten that lot but refused to play any direct ball into the full forward line. The defence has tightened up a lot but there is still this Croke Park Paralysis that kicks in.

Monaghan drag average/ naive sides like us down to their level and rely on McManus to be the difference. They are anti football but won't be within 15-20 points of Kerry and Galway. Ryan Wylie's assault on Neill Flynn was a disgrace and was right under the nose of the referee. I never understand how acts of retribution aren't dealt out for stuff that.

Anyway that's the championship over for us this year. Lasted a lot longer than I thought it would but I am delighted that the Super 8s is turning out to be an an absolute fiasco. When Dublin win it it won't mean a thing because history will show they had suck an unfair advantage against all other counties. People are voting with their feet and Croke Park could have had all 4 games on yesterday and not filled it.

Wah wah wah, less of the sour grapes, Kildare just weren't good enough when it came down to it, that's the harsh truth of it. On a slippery day like that, it's going to come down to fine margins, and the fact is that a few of our key players stood up and made the key plays to get us over the line, where Kildare's did not.

Anti football me hole, the weather today doesn't lend itself to free flowing football, but there were some cracking scores considering the conditions.

Jaysus what a bitter post. Best team won today, Monaghan not given a chance all week by the media. They are a better team than Kildare there was too much hype after they beat a Mayo side with alot of injuries. Monaghan were stronger throughout and lead for most of the game, a draw or a Kildare win would have been harsh as we were the better team throughout.

Kildare aren't a bad team at all, so that's a bit much. But it just came down to a few key moments on either side on a day like today and thankfully for us, we were able to take them at the end.

We could have made things easier on ourselves as we were very wasteful in the 3rd quarter, but we got the job done in the end.

3 minutes of injury time left, 1 point down 50/50 ball and Kildare player launches into a slide tackle - That's two minutes gone just to take the booking and for Began to saunter up for the free
Crazy
