Monaghan Vs Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Except a real match of the year contender. Monaghan are on a mission after losing to Fermanagh and Kildare are in the form of their lives; tough to call but I can see Monaghan having to much in the tank in the final stages of the game. Monaghan +2

Don't give Mona1 airtime, clearly imposter look at super 8 forum. Let's take each game as it comes.

The mother is from Armagh but you can't hold that against me. I'm a season ticket holding Monaghan man my friend.

Replying To Caoimhog88:  "The betting had Monaghan as clear favourites yesterday. I cannot see where the merit is as they have had easy games. 2 monaghan lads in work here. 1 lad will not hear of Kildare getting within 5 points of Monaghan. The other reckons kildare will win. All i know is Kildare have the potential to cause serious problems to Monaghans defence."
All I know is that the pundits on off the ball yesterday on news talk didn't even give us airtime, according to them we weren't even contenders, This suits us fine, we like that. Colin Walshe would be to differ on easy game on Sunday, luckily he didn't end up in hospital after that challenge.

Have to say fair play to players and mangement because they tuck some serious abuse after the carlow game everyone one of them has stood tall, monaghan looked impressive in the first half against laois kildare record in croker is not great in recent times but I think they will want to put this rite aswell should be a cracker can't wait be of luck to both teams.

I think you might find if you look into it, the Monaghan defence is pretty good?

There is a bit of a media love in with Kildare at the minute after how they stood their ground in Newbridge and ended up knocking out Mayo. Doesn't help that a couple of the main OTB lads are from Kildare, naturally that's a story they'll focus on. Meanwhile we haven't been shown on TV live since the Fermanagh slip up so that's the lasting memory alot of people have of us.

Let them at it, we tend to go better under the radar anyway. Kildare are in good form, but I see no reason why we shouldn't go to Croke Park in confidence this weekend.

Man mark , now there's a term I haven't heard in a while, I'm sure we will have enough quality back to mark him and who ever , Looking forward to seeing Conor McCarthy in Full Flight next Sunday also Ryan McAnespie , the latter has showed brilliant for the league and championship.

Joe Molloy, from north Kildare, openly said on the show that personally he felt Kildare should have let the Mayo game go ahead in Croke Park. Heard a second contributor on the show say the same, can't remember which of them it was. Probably is too much talk about us for my liking but you can't stop people talking no matter what you do. I'm sure Cian O'Neill will try control the things he can control, the rest is just noise. It's an even game, both teams are entitled to think they can win it so i can't wait for throw in. It'll be a good weekend ahead.

I will leave that decision to Malachy but plenty of options there.
Looking forward to the game & seeing all the brand new lily white jerseys in Croker.

Just hope all this hype doesn't get to the Kildare fans and players on Sunday. Kildare would want to start thinking about their own defense.... In 2018 championship/ Qualifiers they have scored 9- 87 while conceding 7-58.
Monaghan have scored 7-59 and have conceded 1-40 while also playing a game less.....

There's more Monaghan people on here talking about the alleged hype around Kildare than there are Kildare people saying anything that actually looks like hype !
The bookies have it right, Monaghan are slight favourites....but it should be tight, That's the opinion of almost everyone I know from Kildare anyway.

Don't forget about all those div 4 teams you played to amass those numbers. Those days are gone now. I will point out we conceded less than we scored.............last time I checked that's how you won a game.

Got my ticket today not sure I should have bothered as the media have kildare down as dead certs for this game and strong contenders for the all Ireland. Bernard Flynn on 2fm on Monday evening nearly came out of the radio eulogising kildare and daniel Flynn in particular. He said we had no chance and dismissed us as a one man team. I hear Emmet Boulton is predicting a 5 to 10 point win. Seriously through kildare seem to have clicked last few matches and if they get off to a good start could be a long afternoon. We need to not let that happen get them on the back foot from the off and take it from there. They absolutely destroyed a fermanagh side that beat us so they must be looking forward to this one with a lot of confidence.First 15-20 minutes massive in this one.

Emmet Bolton from Kildare predicting a Kildare win. Amazing that...and Dick Clerkin from Monaghan predicting Monaghan to get out of the group while Kildare finish last. Equally amazing.
'strong contenders for the all Ireland'....will you give over...you have not heard one person in the media saying that ! You're fooling nobody with the 'hype' talk. We're least favoured to come out of the group by the bookies, least favoured to come out of the group on the quick poll on this website too...

I'd say if you have a wee think about that & apply a bit of logic, you might figure out why this was.
